WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Dallas Wings continue their East Coast swing on Sunday afternoon, looking to stretch their momentum into a third straight win when they take on the Washington Mystics at CareFirst Arena.
Fresh off an 86–83 road win over the Connecticut Sun, the Wings (3–11) are showing signs of life behind their sensational rookie class. First-overall pick Paige Bueckers poured in a team-high 21 points in Friday’s victory, while fellow first-year standout Aziaha James added a career performance with 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists. The duo has become the centerpiece of a youthful Dallas squad that continues to find its identity midseason.
Bueckers enters Sunday’s matchup leading all WNBA rookies in points (18.0), assists (5.8), and steals (2.1), while James’ recent surge has added a new dynamic to a Wings team eager to climb out of the league’s cellar.
On the other side, the Mystics (5–8) are also riding the wave of rookie production. Kiki Iriafen leads all first-year players in rebounds (8.8) and ranks third in scoring (13.0), just behind teammate Sonia Citron (13.6), who’s second among rookies. Washington dropped a tight 92–91 contest to the Atlanta Dream on Friday, snapping a two-game win streak.
Sunday marks the first of three meetings between the two teams this season and the lone clash in the nation’s capital. Dallas will look to secure its first three-game win streak of the 2025 campaign, while Washington aims to bounce back on its home court.
Key Storylines to Watch:
- Rookie Showdown: With five first-round picks from the 2025 WNBA Draft between the two squads, expect the spotlight to shine bright on Bueckers, James, Iriafen, and Citron.

Following Sunday’s contest, the Wings return to College Park Center to open a four-game homestand beginning Tuesday against the Atlanta Dream. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT, broadcast locally on KFAA29.
