Las Vegas, NV (Aug. 17, 2025) – The Dallas Wings dropped their second straight contest, falling 106-87 to the Las Vegas Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena on Sunday afternoon. Despite a career-high performance from Maddy Siegrist, Dallas struggled to keep pace with an Aces squad that delivered a historic shooting performance from beyond the arc.
Siegrist Shines in Career Night
Second-year forward Maddy Siegrist turned in her best game as a pro, leading Dallas with a career-high 23 points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Her scoring was efficient, highlighted by 10-of-15 shooting, and she matched her career high in steals. Rookie standout Paige Bueckers provided 18 points, extending her double-digit scoring streak to 28 games, while adding five rebounds and four assists.
Despite the individual highlights, Dallas (9-26) was undone by poor outside shooting, connecting on just 3-of-17 (17.6%) from deep. Las Vegas (21-14), on the other hand, erupted for 18 made threes, the most ever by a Wings opponent and the second-highest total in league history.
First Quarter: Tight Battle Early
Head coach Chris Koclanes rolled out a starting five of Grace Berger, Bueckers, Siegrist, Haley Jones and Luisa Geiselsöder, with Dallas missing Li Yueru, Arike Ogunbowale, and Ty Harris due to injuries.
The opening frame featured six ties and four lead changes. Siegrist scored nine quick points on 4-of-5 shooting to keep Dallas level, while A’ja Wilson and Kierstan Bell combined for 18 points for Las Vegas. Both teams shot above 55% in the first, but the Aces edged ahead 31-27.
Second Quarter: Aces Heat Up from Deep
The Aces quickly seized control with a 10-4 run and never looked back. Dallas went 0-for-3 from long range in the quarter, while Las Vegas converted three triples to stretch its lead. Bueckers poured in seven points to keep the Wings within striking distance, but the Aces led 55-44 at the break.
Siegrist and Bueckers shared the team scoring lead at halftime with 11 apiece, while Aziaha James added seven points and steady play off the bench.
Third Quarter: Wilson Takes Over
Dallas held Las Vegas scoreless from the field for the first four minutes of the third quarter, but the Aces recovered in dominant fashion. Wilson erupted for 14 points in the frame, attacking relentlessly inside and stretching the floor with her midrange game.
Siegrist countered with eight points of her own, but the Aces’ efficiency from the perimeter widened the gap. Dallas entered the final 10 minutes trailing 81-66.
Fourth Quarter: Too Much Firepower
The Wings made one final push in the fourth, cutting the deficit to 12, but Las Vegas responded with a 7-0 run that put the game out of reach. The Aces drained five more three-pointers in the quarter, capping off a record-setting afternoon.
Myisha Hines-Allen led Dallas in the final frame with five points, but the Wings’ 0-for-6 effort from deep sealed their fate.
By the Numbers
Despite the loss, Dallas put up strong numbers in several categories. The Wings outrebounded the Aces 37-28, dominated points in the paint 58-32, and held wide advantages in second-chance points 20-6 and fast-break points 14-3.
Still, the three-point disparity and turnover battle proved decisive. Las Vegas scored 23 points off 13 Dallas giveaways, while Chelsea Gray orchestrated the offense with a game-high 14 assists.
Wilson finished with 34 points and eight rebounds, while Plum added 18 and Bell chipped in 15.
