Los Angeles, CA (Sept. 7, 2025) — The Dallas Wings closed out their 2025 road schedule on Sunday afternoon with a 91-77 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena. Despite strong all-around performances from Myisha Hines-Allen and rookie standout Paige Bueckers, the Sparks surged late to protect their postseason chances and move to 20-22 on the season. Dallas, meanwhile, slipped to 9-34.
Double-Double Dominance from Hines-Allen
Hines-Allen continued her late-season resurgence, finishing with 15 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists for her second consecutive double-double. It marked the first time she had strung together back-to-back double-doubles since the 2021 season. In doing so, she joined a rare statistical club, becoming just the 12th player in league history to post at least 15 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and a block in the same game.
Bueckers added a team-high 18 points along with six rebounds and seven assists, inching closer to two more milestones. She now sits just 14 points shy of A’ja Wilson’s No. 3 mark (682 in 2018) on the all-time rookie scoring list and is within four assists of Sue Bird’s No. 3 rookie total in league history.
Game Flow
The Sparks controlled the opening period, using a 12-2 run to pull ahead 16-6. Dallas shot just 29.4 percent in the frame and committed eight turnovers, trailing 21-14 after 10 minutes.
In the second quarter, Bueckers found her rhythm with eight points, while Grace Berger added five off the bench. Dallas cut into the deficit, but Azurá Stevens paced Los Angeles with seven points, helping the Sparks maintain a 42-33 halftime lead.
The Wings came alive in the third, fueled by a 15-4 spurt that tied the game at 46. Hines-Allen buried a three-pointer to give Dallas its first lead since the opening minutes, but Los Angeles responded quickly. The Sparks closed the period clinging to a 66-64 advantage after Bueckers scored eight in the frame and Hines-Allen notched her double-double by the buzzer.
The fourth quarter, however, was all Sparks. Dallas went scoreless for the first 4:30 of the quarter, and Los Angeles capitalized with an 18-0 run that effectively put the game out of reach. Rae Burrell scored 13 of her 15 points in the period, while the Wings never fully recovered, being outscored 25-13 in the final frame.
Supporting Cast
Maddy Siegrist scored 13 points with four rebounds, extending her double-figure scoring streak to 11 games. Amy Okonkwo chipped in nine points and four rebounds off the bench, while Haley Jones added playmaking support with early assists.
Despite being competitive for much of the afternoon, Dallas’ 17 turnovers proved costly, directly leading to 21 Sparks points. Los Angeles also held advantages in points in the paint (44-40), second-chance points (10-2), and fast-break points (20-12).
Sparks Balanced Attack
The Sparks’ offense thrived behind balance, with six players scoring in double figures. Julie Allemand was flawless, scoring a game-high 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting, including three triples. Stevens contributed a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Hamby added 13 points and four assists.
Los Angeles shot 40.5 percent from the floor and 30.3 percent from three-point range, overcoming their struggles at the free-throw line (65 percent).
Looking Ahead
The Wings return home for their season finale on Thursday, Sept. 11, when they host the Phoenix Mercury at College Park Center for Fan Appreciation Night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on KFAA29.
For Dallas, Bueckers’ pursuit of rookie milestones will headline the final week of the season, while Hines-Allen’s return to form provides optimism moving forward. For Los Angeles, Sunday’s victory was vital in keeping postseason hopes alive, as the Sparks continue to battle for a playoff spot.
