Indianapolis, IN (Aug. 12, 2025) – The Dallas Wings held off a furious late rally from the Indiana Fever to secure an 81-80 road victory Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Powered by career-high scoring performances from Maddy Siegrist and Li Yueru, the Wings snapped their three-game skid and improved to 9-24 on the season.
Siegrist poured in 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting, adding five rebounds and a career-best three three-pointers. Yueru matched her with 20 points, hitting 7-of-14 from the floor while chipping in four rebounds and two steals. Paige Bueckers contributed 16 points and eight assists, extending her rookie double-figure scoring streak to 26 games, the fourth-longest by a first-year player in WNBA history. Myisha Hines-Allen orchestrated the offense with a career-high nine assists to go with eight points and six boards.
The Wings assisted on 25 of their 30 made baskets, with Bueckers and Hines-Allen combining for 17 of those dimes.
Fast Start for Dallas
The night began with a fresh look for Dallas, as Grace Berger made her debut in the starting lineup less than 12 hours after signing a rest-of-season contract. Arike Ogunbowale was sidelined with right knee soreness.
The Wings broke an early tie with a 7-0 run to grab an 11-4 advantage, later expanding their lead to 21-9 behind two timely three-pointers from Yueru. Dallas’ defensive activity paid off as they forced six first-quarter turnovers, converting them into 10 points to take a 23-15 lead after one.
Indiana’s Response Before Halftime
Dallas pushed its lead to 14 midway through the second quarter, but Indiana refused to fade. After Siegrist and Haley Jones hit back-to-back shots to restore a double-digit edge, the Fever closed the half on a 13-3 surge to tie the game at 42-42.
Siegrist and Yueru were both in double figures at the break, while the Fever shot 47.1 percent from the floor to Dallas’ 43.2 percent, trimming the Wings’ early advantage.
Wings Surge in the Third
The Fever briefly seized a six-point lead early in the third before Dallas responded with an 8-0 run highlighted by Siegrist’s third triple of the night. The Wings closed the quarter on an 18-3 tear, fueled by Siegrist’s eight points and timely contributions from JJ Quinerly and Yueru, to take a 12-point cushion into the fourth.
Fever’s Furious Rally Falls Short
Hines-Allen drilled a three to give Dallas its largest lead of the night at 78-61 with 6:38 to play. From there, Indiana mounted a rally, closing the game on a 19-3 run. The decisive play came when Yueru absorbed contact from Aliyah Boston on a made layup, converting the free throw for the Wings’ final point with 2:31 left.
The Fever cut the margin to one in the final seconds and had a chance to win, but Kelsey Mitchell’s jumper at the buzzer missed, sealing Dallas’ first win over Indiana this season.
