STWF Sports| ARLINGTON, Texas| August 30, 2026 — The Dallas Wings will look to carry their late-season momentum into the international break when they host the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, Aug. 30, at College Park Center.
Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, with the game airing locally on WFAA and KFAA. Ron Thulin will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Fran Harris, with Alexis Davis reporting from the sideline.
Dallas enters the matchup at 23-16 and riding a three-game winning streak. The Wings are coming off a convincing 96-78 victory over the Portland Fire, a result that officially secured the franchise’s first playoff berth since 2023.
The win also pushed Dallas to a team-record 23 regular-season victories, adding another milestone to a season that has steadily gained momentum.
Paige Bueckers led the way against Portland with 22 points and a game-high 11 assists, recording her third points-assists double-double of the season. All five Dallas starters finished in double figures, a reflection of the balanced scoring that has helped fuel the Wings’ recent surge.
Sunday’s matchup also gives Dallas an opportunity to make history against Connecticut.
The Wings currently lead the season series 2-0 and can complete their first regular-season sweep of the Sun in franchise history with another victory. Dallas controlled the previous meeting on Aug. 2 in Arlington, winning 83-63 behind 15-point performances from Jessica Shepard and Arike Ogunbowale.
The Dallas Wings Aim for Franchise Milestone
That 20-point victory marked only the third time in franchise history that Dallas defeated Connecticut by at least 20 points in a regular-season contest.
The Wings’ success this season has been built around a blend of veteran scoring, interior production and improved ball movement. Ogunbowale remains one of the league’s most dangerous offensive threats, while Shepard has been a consistent presence on the glass and in the paint.
Bueckers has continued to make a major impact as both a scorer and facilitator, giving Dallas another dynamic option in late-game situations.
Connecticut, meanwhile, arrives in Arlington at 10-29 following a 111-91 road loss to the Indiana Fever on Friday.
Diamond Miller led the Sun with 19 points in the defeat, while rookie guard Nell Angloma added 17. Connecticut has endured a difficult season, but its young roster continues to gain experience as the organization evaluates its future.
Dallas cannot afford to overlook a Sun team capable of producing offensive bursts, particularly with players such as Miller providing athleticism and shot creation on the perimeter.
The Wings will also want to maintain the defensive intensity that has helped them separate from opponents during their current winning streak.
Beyond the immediate matchup, Sunday represents Dallas’ final game before the WNBA pauses for the 2026 FIBA World Cup. The break arrives at an important time, with playoff positioning still to be determined despite the Wings already securing their postseason place.
A fourth consecutive victory would send Dallas into the break with confidence, a franchise-first sweep of Connecticut and another statement that the Wings are becoming increasingly dangerous as the postseason approaches.
For a team that has already rewritten part of its regular-season record book, Sunday night offers another opportunity to add to a rapidly growing list of accomplishments.
