Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT in Arlington, with local coverage on KFAA. Ron Thulin will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Fran Harris and sideline reporter Alexis Davis.
Dallas enters the matchup at 17-8 and riding a franchise-record six-game winning streak. New York arrives at 13-12, looking to recover from a difficult road defeat and avoid a season sweep at the hands of the surging Wings.
Challenges Ahead for the Dallas Wings
The quick turnaround will challenge Dallas after Sunday afternoon’s 90-82 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks. The Wings played before a sold-out crowd and held off several second-half pushes to extend the longest winning streak in franchise history.
Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale carried much of the scoring load against Los Angeles, combining for 45 points. Bueckers finished with 25 points, five assists and four rebounds, while Ogunbowale added 20 points and two steals.
Jessica Shepard continued her outstanding season with another all-around performance. She recorded 11 points, 14 rebounds and a team-high six assists, collecting her 16th double-double of the year. Shepard’s rebounding, passing and interior presence have become central to Dallas’ success during its recent run.
The Wings now face a New York team they have already defeated twice this season.
Dallas leads the 2026 regular-season series 2-0 and can complete its first sweep of the Liberty since 2020 with another victory Monday. The Wings’ previous success against New York has come through balanced offense, defensive pressure and strong production from Shepard.
In the most recent meeting on July 7 in Brooklyn, Dallas earned an 88-77 road victory. Shepard delivered one of the most complete performances of her career, recording her third triple-double of the season with 22 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.
Her ability to operate as a scorer and facilitator created consistent problems for the Liberty defense. Dallas also controlled key stretches of the second half and prevented New York from establishing the rhythm needed to complete a comeback.
Monday’s game presents a different challenge because of the short rest. The Wings will need to manage their energy after playing Sunday while maintaining the pace, defensive intensity and offensive execution that have fueled their winning streak.
Dallas has shown an ability to win in several ways during its recent surge. The Wings have handled high-scoring contests, erased second-half deficits and executed effectively in close games. Their depth has also allowed different players to make decisive contributions throughout the rotation.
New York enters the matchup after falling 108-88 to the Indiana Fever on Saturday night. The Liberty allowed Indiana to create separation offensively and will attempt to produce a stronger defensive effort against a Dallas lineup featuring multiple perimeter threats.
Breanna Stewart led New York in the loss with 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal. Her versatility remains the centerpiece of the Liberty attack, and Dallas will need to account for her scoring from multiple areas of the floor.
The Wings must also limit New York’s transition opportunities and prevent the Liberty from gaining confidence from the perimeter. On the other end, Dallas will look to continue using Bueckers and Ogunbowale to apply pressure off the dribble while creating touches for Shepard around the paint and at the elbows.
Protecting the basketball will be especially important on the second night of a back-to-back. Dallas committed 17 turnovers against Los Angeles, an area the Wings will want to clean up against a Liberty team capable of turning mistakes into quick points.
A victory would extend Dallas’ historic run to seven games, complete the season sweep of New York and further strengthen the Wings’ position among the league’s top teams.
With momentum, home-court energy and another national contender standing across the floor, Monday night offers Dallas an immediate opportunity to prove its record-setting streak still has room to grow.
