STWF Sports| PHOENIX, Arizona| September 21, 2026 — The Dallas Wings will begin their final road trip of the regular season Monday night with another opportunity to extend one of the strongest stretches of their 2026 campaign.
Dallas enters its matchup against the Phoenix Mercury at 26-16 and riding a six-game winning streak, tied for the longest in franchise history this season. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT at Mortgage Matchup Center, with national coverage on USA Network and a local broadcast in Dallas-Fort Worth on KFAA 29.
The matchup comes just two days after the Wings defeated Phoenix 87-82 in Texas, giving Dallas a 2-0 advantage in the season series.
Paige Bueckers led the Wings in Saturday’s win with 26 points, four rebounds, five assists, three steals and one block. Arike Ogunbowale added 22 points and a team-high six assists, helping Dallas withstand a late push from the Mercury.
That performance continued a strong closing run for a Wings team that has found consistency on both ends of the floor.
Dallas has already secured 10 season-series victories this year, including wins over playoff-bound Las Vegas, Indiana and New York, along with Portland, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Chicago, Toronto, Connecticut and Seattle.
The Wings have completed regular-season sweeps of Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and Connecticut. A win Monday would add Phoenix to that list and give Dallas its first season sweep of the Mercury since 2023.
Wings Looking to Maintain Late-Season Momentum
Dallas’ recent surge has come at an ideal time.
The Wings have won six consecutive games and have continued to build chemistry as the regular season winds down. Their current streak matches the six-game run they produced earlier this season from July 2 through July 19.
The final two games will provide another chance to sharpen execution before the postseason while continuing to build confidence away from home.
Monday’s contest also gives Dallas an immediate rematch against a Phoenix team that remains capable of creating problems despite its 15-27 record.
Because the teams just met, both coaching staffs will have fresh film to work from. Adjustments in defensive coverages, pace and half-court execution could play a major role in determining whether Dallas can repeat Saturday’s success.
The Wings will again look to Bueckers and Ogunbowale to set the offensive tone.
Bueckers’ scoring efficiency and ability to create pressure with the ball gave Phoenix problems in the previous matchup, while Ogunbowale’s playmaking helped keep Dallas organized in key stretches.
Phoenix Gets Another Shot at Dallas
The Mercury will be looking for a different result on their home floor after staying competitive in Saturday’s game.
Dallas was able to make enough plays late to close out the victory, but Phoenix remained within striking distance and showed it could challenge the Wings over four quarters.
For Dallas, the emphasis will be on avoiding complacency.
Back-to-back meetings in a short window can create unpredictable results, especially with the second game shifting to the opponent’s home court. The Wings will need another disciplined effort defensively while limiting turnovers and preventing Phoenix from gaining rhythm early.
One More Sweep Within Reach
A victory Monday would do more than extend Dallas’ winning streak to seven.
It would also complete another season sweep and keep the Wings on track to finish the regular season on one of their best runs of the year.
Dallas will then travel to Seattle for Wednesday’s regular-season finale, where the Wings currently hold a 3-0 advantage over the Storm and could complete another sweep.
For now, the focus remains on Phoenix.
The Wings have momentum, confidence and a chance to keep building. Monday night offers another test of whether Dallas can continue turning that momentum into results as the postseason approaches.
