STWF Sports | INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana | August 14, 2026 — The Dallas Wings will take their 20-win season back on the road Friday night when they visit the Indiana Fever in a matchup between two teams looking to strengthen their position during the final stretch of the WNBA regular season.
Dallas (20-14) and Indiana (21-12) will meet at 6:30 p.m. CT on August 14 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game will air nationally on ION, with Pat Boylan handling play-by-play alongside analysts Debbie Antonelli and Kelsie Kasper.
The Wings begin a two-game road trip with momentum after defeating the Toronto Tempo 94-88 on Wednesday night at College Park Center.
Dallas needed a strong second-half response, and Paige Bueckers delivered.
The Dallas Wings: Key Players to Watch
Bueckers scored all 22 of her team-high points after halftime, leading four Wings in double figures and helping Dallas secure its third victory over Toronto this season. The win completed a 3-0 regular-season sweep of the Tempo while pushing the Wings to the 20-win mark.
It is only the second 20-win campaign in team history and the franchise’s first since 2023.
Friday’s game also brings Dallas back to the site of one of its most memorable performances from earlier this season.
The Wings opened the 2026 campaign at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on May 9 and escaped Indianapolis with a 107-104 victory over the Fever.
That matchup made WNBA history as the first season opener in which both teams scored at least 100 points.
Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 22 points, while Bueckers and Odyssey Sims contributed 20 apiece as the Wings used a balanced offensive attack to begin the year with a statement road victory.
Dallas has also enjoyed consistent success in Indianapolis over the past several seasons. The Wings are 6-2 in regular-season road games against Indiana since 2021, giving them a level of familiarity and confidence entering Friday’s contest.
However, the Fever will present a significant challenge.
Indiana enters the matchup having won four of its last six games, including an impressive 106-92 victory over the New York Liberty on Tuesday night.
The Fever placed five players in double figures in that win, with veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell leading the way with 28 points.
Mitchell’s scoring ability will be one of the primary concerns for Dallas. The Wings will need to limit her perimeter opportunities while also preventing Indiana from establishing the type of balanced offensive rhythm that helped produce 106 points against New York.
For Dallas, Bueckers’ second-half explosion against Toronto provided another example of her ability to take over stretches of a game. The Wings will look for that production earlier Friday while continuing to receive contributions throughout the lineup.
Ogunbowale’s shot creation, Sims’ backcourt presence and the Wings’ ability to generate offense in transition could all become important factors against a Fever team playing with confidence at home.
The matchup also offers Dallas an opportunity to continue building momentum away from Arlington.
Reaching 20 victories represented another milestone in what has been a strong season, but the Wings now enter a difficult road test against an Indiana team sitting just ahead of them in the standings.
Dallas already proved in May that it can win inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Three months later, the Wings return to Indianapolis with higher stakes, postseason positioning becoming increasingly important and another chance to show that their early-season victory over Indiana was no accident.
