Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, with the matchup airing nationally on ION. Dorian Craft will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Christy Winters Scott and sideline reporter Stefanie Manisero.
Dallas enters the contest at 18-10 following Wednesday’s 82-81 home loss to the Atlanta Dream. The Wings led by as many as 15 points and carried a double-digit advantage into the fourth quarter before Atlanta completed a late comeback.
Despite the result, Dallas received strong production from its starting unit, which accounted for 80 of the team’s 81 points.
Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with 24 points, six rebounds, five assists and a season-high four steals. Her ability to create offense while pressuring the ball defensively gave Dallas a steady presence throughout the game.
Azzi Fudd added 20 points on 9-of-13 shooting, continuing an efficient stretch in her rookie season. Paige Bueckers finished with 16 points and six assists, marking the 19th time this year she has reached double figures while recording at least five assists.
Jessica Shepard once again delivered one of the most complete performances on the floor. She totaled 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds for her league-leading 19th double-double of the season.
The performance extended Shepard’s double-double streak to eight consecutive games, the longest such run in Wings franchise history. Her rebounding and playmaking will be especially important against a Washington frontcourt featuring Shakira Austin and Kiki Iriafen.
Dallas holds a 1-0 advantage in the season series after defeating the Mystics 92-69 on May 18 in Arlington. The Wings controlled that matchup with defensive pressure, transition scoring and balanced offensive production.

Friday’s game presents a different challenge.
Washington enters at 15-12 and has won three consecutive games. The Mystics most recently earned a 92-84 home victory over the Connecticut Sun, continuing a strong run of form entering the final day of July.
Sophomore guards Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen led Washington’s offense in that victory. Citron scored 22 points, Iriafen added 20 and Austin contributed 17 as the Mystics received production from multiple areas of the floor.
Washington’s young core has helped establish the team as a playoff contender while giving the Mystics a blend of perimeter scoring, physical interior play and defensive versatility.
For Dallas, limiting Citron’s shot creation and keeping Washington out of the paint will be major priorities. The Wings must also control the defensive glass after Atlanta generated valuable second-chance opportunities during Wednesday’s loss.
Ball security could become another decisive factor. Dallas committed 18 turnovers against the Dream, leading to 22 Atlanta points. Against a Washington team playing with confidence, careless possessions could allow the Mystics to generate momentum in transition.
The Wings will also look to maintain the offensive efficiency displayed against Atlanta. Dallas shot nearly 50 percent from the field but struggled at the free-throw line and received only one point from its bench.
A more balanced contribution from the rotation could help the Wings manage minutes and maintain energy throughout the second half.
Friday also offers Dallas an opportunity to end a difficult road trend in the nation’s capital. The Wings have lost their last three regular-season games in Washington and are seeking their first victory there since Aug. 30, 2023.
With Dallas attempting to respond quickly and Washington riding a three-game winning streak, the matchup brings postseason-level importance between two teams positioned firmly in the playoff race.
