STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | July 19, 2026 — The Dallas Wings continued their surge up the WNBA standings Sunday afternoon, defeating the Los Angeles Sparks 90-82 before a sold-out crowd at College Park Center.
The Dallas Wings: A Historic Season
The victory extended Dallas’ winning streak to six games, the longest in Wings history, and improved the club to 17-8. Los Angeles dropped to 10-15 after suffering its fourth consecutive defeat.
Paige Bueckers once again delivered the decisive performance for Dallas, finishing with 25 points, five assists and four rebounds in 32 minutes. She scored nine points in the fourth quarter, helping the Wings withstand the Sparks’ final push and close out another tightly contested victory.
The performance marked Bueckers’ seventh game this season with at least 25 points and five assists, the most in the WNBA. Her league-leading fourth-quarter scoring total also climbed to 147 points.
Arike Ogunbowale added 20 points, two steals and two rebounds, providing a critical finishing touch late in the game. With Los Angeles within four points in the closing minutes, Ogunbowale scored Dallas’ final four points to secure the victory.
Jessica Shepard continued her record-setting season with 11 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and six assists. Her 16th double-double established a new Wings single-season record and moved her into second place among WNBA players this year.
Azzi Fudd rounded out Dallas’ double-figure scorers with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals. It was her sixth game with at least three steals, tying the highest total by a rookie this season.
Dallas opened the afternoon with a balanced first-quarter effort. After Los Angeles scored the game’s first four points, the Wings answered with nine straight and eventually closed the period on an 8-0 run. Seven Dallas players scored in the opening quarter as the Wings built a 27-17 advantage.
The Sparks responded in the second. Los Angeles began the period with an 8-2 run and trimmed the deficit to four before Dallas restored a nine-point edge behind Ogunbowale’s aggressive scoring. The Sparks closed the half with a 13-10 stretch, but Dallas maintained a 46-40 lead at intermission.
Los Angeles continued applying pressure after halftime. A 9-4 run reduced the Wings’ lead to one, and Nneka Ogwumike briefly gave the Sparks a 51-50 advantage midway through the third quarter.
Dallas answered immediately.
The Wings produced a 14-7 surge, highlighted by an and-one finish from Li Yueru, to regain control. Dallas carried a 68-63 lead into the fourth despite being outscored by one point in the period.
Bueckers opened the final quarter with a three-pointer, pushing the margin to eight. Los Angeles continued to threaten and pulled within four, but the Wings consistently responded with timely baskets.
Bueckers scored four points during a key 6-4 Dallas run, while Ogunbowale delivered the final blow. The Sparks never came closer than four points over the closing stretch.
Dallas shot 49.3 percent from the field and made seven three-pointers. The Wings also controlled the rebounding battle 34-30, held a 17-10 advantage in second-chance scoring and outscored Los Angeles 6-4 in transition.
The Sparks shot 48.5 percent and held a 50-44 edge in paint scoring. Ogwumike led Los Angeles with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Dearica Hamby contributed 16 points, five rebounds and three assists. Erica Wheeler finished with 10 assists.
The victory gave Dallas its eighth win in 10 games, the franchise’s best 10-game stretch since 2023. The Wings also improved to 2-0 against Los Angeles this season, marking their first multi-win regular-season campaign against the Sparks since 2021.
Dallas will have little time to celebrate. The Wings return to College Park Center on Monday night to host the New York Liberty at 7 p.m. CT. The game will air locally on KFAA and stream on WNBA League Pass.
