STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | July 20, 2026 — The Dallas Wings’ six-game winning streak came to a dramatic end Monday night as the New York Liberty escaped College Park Center with a 99-98 overtime victory before a sold-out crowd.
Dallas fell to 17-9 despite leading by as many as 12 points and receiving a team-high 29 points from Arike Ogunbowale. New York improved to 14-12, though the Wings still claimed the regular-season series 2-1, marking their first series victory over the Liberty since 2022.
The Wings played without leading scorer Paige Bueckers, who was ruled out before tipoff. Monday’s contest was originally scheduled for Thursday but was postponed because of New York’s travel issues, leaving Dallas to play on consecutive nights after Sunday’s home victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
Ogunbowale carried a significant portion of the offensive workload, adding six assists and five rebounds while surpassing 20 points for the 10th time this season. Jessica Shepard recorded 13 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for another double-double, while Azzi Fudd scored 15 points. Maddy Siegrist contributed 13 points, and Awak Kuier finished with 10 points and four blocked shots.
Dallas was efficient offensively, shooting 47.4% from the field and 52.4% from three-point range. The Liberty shot 41.7% overall and just 28.1% from beyond the arc, but New York’s dominance on the glass proved decisive.
The Liberty outrebounded Dallas 48-34 and held a commanding 30-6 advantage in second-chance points. New York also outscored the Wings 44-32 in the paint, offsetting Dallas’ 16-7 edge in transition scoring.

After a foul call involving Ogunbowale was overturned following a Liberty challenge, Dallas forced another opportunity. Ogunbowale calmly made two free throws with 3.5 seconds remaining, tying the game at 83 and sending it to overtime.
Fudd opened the extra period with a pull-up jumper, and Ogunbowale later connected from deep to give Dallas a 93-90 lead. Ionescu then took over, scoring on three consecutive possessions as New York moved ahead 97-93.
Ogunbowale’s final three-pointer cut the deficit to 99-98 with 27.5 seconds left. Dallas forced a shot-clock violation on the ensuing possession, but Ogunbowale’s potential game-winning floater missed as time expired.
