Dallas improved to 20-14, reaching the 20-win mark for just the second time in franchise history and the first since 2023. The victory also completed a 3-0 regular-season sweep of Toronto, which fell to 10-23.
The biggest story of the night was Paige Bueckers, who delivered a dramatic second-half turnaround.
Paige Bueckers Leads the Charge for the Wings
After going scoreless on 0-for-7 shooting in the opening half, Bueckers exploded for all 22 of her team-high points after halftime. She shot 7-of-11 from the field over the final two quarters and went a perfect 7-of-7 from the free-throw line.
Bueckers also finished with eight assists, three rebounds and three steals, tying her season high in steals while helping Dallas control the game when Toronto threatened late.
Arike Ogunbowale added 21 points and five assists, doing significant damage at the foul line by converting 13 of 14 free throws. Alanna Smith recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while Awak Kuier contributed 14 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting performance.
Dallas also received productive bench minutes from Maddy Siegrist, who finished with seven points, four rebounds, three assists and a season-high two blocked shots.
The Wings established control early behind a strong opening quarter. Odyssey Sims knocked down a pair of early three-pointers as Dallas built a 14-8 advantage, and Smith immediately made her presence felt on both ends.
By the end of the first quarter, Dallas held a 27-17 lead, with Smith already contributing nine points, four rebounds and three assists.
Toronto responded in the second period.
After Dallas extended the advantage to 15, the Tempo used a 9-0 run to cut the deficit to six. Another Toronto surge made it a one-point game at 36-35, but the Wings steadied themselves behind five consecutive points from Alysha Clark.
Kuier’s layup late in the half sent Dallas into the locker room with a 45-37 lead.
Then came Bueckers’ takeover.
She opened the third quarter by making her first three shots and quickly found an offensive rhythm after the difficult first half. Bueckers scored 13 points in the period as Dallas stretched its lead into double figures and entered the fourth ahead 70-58.
Toronto refused to go quietly.
Led by Marina Mabrey, who finished with a game-high 23 points, the Tempo mounted a fourth-quarter rally. Mabrey connected on three triples during a stretch that cut the Wings’ advantage to 80-77 with 4:28 remaining.
Dallas responded at the free-throw line.
Bueckers knocked down two foul shots to restore breathing room, and the Wings pushed the margin back to 10 before Toronto made one final charge. A 7-1 Tempo run trimmed the Dallas lead to 90-86 with 1:18 remaining.
Ogunbowale answered with free throws, and Bueckers followed with a late jumper to close the door.
Dallas finished the night shooting 44.3 percent from the field, 34.6 percent from three-point range and 88.5 percent from the foul line. The Wings made 23 of 26 free throws, their second-highest total of the season.
Toronto won the rebounding battle 37-30 and held advantages in points in the paint and second-chance scoring, but Dallas countered with stronger transition play and timely late-game execution.
The Wings now head back on the road for a two-game trip beginning Friday against the Indiana Fever at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, with the game airing nationally on ION.
