STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | August 23, 2026 — The Dallas Wings wasted little time taking control Sunday afternoon, using a dominant opening quarter and a historic shooting performance from Paige Bueckers to defeat the Seattle Storm, 92-70, in front of a sold-out crowd at College Park Center.
The victory improved Dallas to 22-16, tying the franchise record for most regular-season wins. It also completed a 3-0 season sweep of Seattle, giving the Wings their eighth series victory of the year.
Paige Bueckers Shines in Historic Performance
Bueckers delivered the defining performance of the afternoon, finishing with a game-high 32 points while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range. The flawless performance from deep tied the WNBA record for most made threes in a game without a miss.
Her offensive explosion started immediately.
Bueckers scored 18 points in the first quarter, single-handedly outscoring Seattle’s 17 points in the frame. Her total matched the Wings record for most points by a player in an opening quarter and marked the highest single-quarter scoring performance by a Dallas player since 2024.
Dallas rode that momentum to a 34-17 first-quarter advantage, shooting 60 percent from the field and 75 percent from three-point range.
Bueckers continued her hot shooting into the second quarter and entered halftime with 23 points, going a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc. The Wings stretched their lead to as many as 35 points before carrying a commanding advantage into the break.
By the end of the afternoon, Bueckers had recorded the fifth 30-point game of her career, the third-most in Wings history. Her six perfect three-pointers placed her alongside Tamika Catchings, Maya Moore, Kristi Toliver and Stefanie Dolson in the WNBA record book.
Dallas also received another steady performance from Jessica Shepard, who finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds for her 21st double-double of the season.
Shepard continued to rewrite the franchise record book, becoming the fastest Wings player to reach 400 rebounds in a season, accomplishing the feat in just 36 games.
The Wings’ supporting cast also played a major role.
Maddy Siegrist and Sug Sutton each scored nine points off the bench as Dallas received 24 total bench points. Sutton finished with a game-best plus-22 rating, while the reserves helped maintain control late as Bueckers, Shepard and Arike Ogunbowale rested throughout the fourth quarter.
Dallas shot 50 percent from the field and connected on 11 three-pointers. The Wings also controlled several key areas, winning the rebounding battle 40-34, holding a 36-26 advantage in the paint and dominating fast-break scoring, 20-5.
Seattle managed to make a push in the third quarter behind Flau’jae Johnson, who scored 11 of her team-high 23 points in the period. The Storm cut a once 35-point deficit to 15, but Dallas regained control in the fourth.
The Wings held Seattle to just 12 points over the final 10 minutes.
Dallas also neutralized much of Seattle’s primary offensive core, holding Awa Fam scoreless and limiting Ezi Magbegor to two points.
The 22-point victory was Dallas’ third-largest margin of the season.
More importantly, the Wings now stand one victory away from making franchise history while also nearing another significant milestone.
Dallas can clinch its first postseason berth since 2023 on Tuesday night when it hosts the Portland Fire at 7 p.m. CT at College Park Center.
After tying the franchise wins record Sunday, the Wings will have an opportunity to break it with the playoffs also within reach.
