Written in Red and Blue: FC Dallas Reveals DNA Kit Ahead of 2026 Opener

FRISCO, Texas (Feb. 11, 2026) — FC Dallas officially reintroduced a defining piece of its identity Tuesday with the unveiling of the DNA kit, the club’s new primary jersey for the 2026 and 2027 Major League Soccer seasons. The kit blends tradition and innovation, signaling both a return to the club’s roots and a step forward into a new era.

Set on a bold red base, the DNA kit marks the return of FC Dallas’ signature horizontal hoops—an unmistakable visual thread that runs through the club’s history. Three prominent blue hoops stretch across the front, accented by subtle red-on-red mini hoops and slim white piping that sharpens the overall silhouette. For the first time in club history, the FC Dallas crest appears in a holographic finish, introducing a dynamic star element that serves as a modern nod to Texas’ Lone Star identity.

The jersey will make its on-field debut when FC Dallas hosts Toronto FC in the club’s 2026 regular-season opener at Toyota Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 21, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. The match, presented by CoServ, will also stream on MLS Season Pass via Apple TV.

Beyond its visual impact, the DNA kit represents a deeper connection to the club’s past. Formerly known as the Dallas Burn, FC Dallas captured the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 1997 and again in 2016, the same season the club claimed its first Supporters’ Shield. All three of the organization’s major trophies share a common design theme: hoops. Since rebranding to FC Dallas in 2005, 18 different jerseys have incorporated hoop elements, making the design synonymous with the club’s identity.

“This kit is about who we are,” the club emphasized in its launch messaging. The DNA kit serves as a throughline, evolving a familiar symbol while honoring the foundation on which the franchise was built. Names and numbers appear in white on both the jersey and shorts, reinforcing the clean, classic aesthetic that longtime supporters associate with the club.

Performance innovation is also at the forefront. The DNA kit is the first FC Dallas jersey engineered with adidas CLIMACOOL+ technology. Designed for high-performance environments, the kit features body-mapped, 3D-engineered stretch fabrics that wick moisture more efficiently, keeping players drier in demanding conditions. Perforated wide three-stripes enhance breathability, while strategically placed mesh zones provide optimal airflow—an essential feature for matches played in North Texas heat.

Several design details further reinforce the club’s heritage and partnerships. Children’s Health appears as the front-of-jersey partner for the DNA kit, while UT Southwestern Medical Center remains the front sponsor on the Inferno Kit. A Lamar Hunt tribute patch sits on the lower-left hem, honoring one of the most influential figures in American soccer. The Apple TV sleeve patch returns for 2026, and the Texas state flag remains stitched at the back neckline, underscoring FC Dallas’ distinction as the first MLS club in the state.

The coordinated primary look is completed with blue shorts featuring red striping and red socks accented by white adidas branding and three stripes. The FC Dallas bull logo appears prominently in white, tying the full matchday kit together.

Players were quick to embrace the new look. Defender Osaze Urhoghide praised both the design and functionality, noting the return of the traditional hoops and improved material. Forward Petar Musa echoed the sentiment, emphasizing the importance of the hoop design to the club’s identity.

The DNA kit is now available for purchase at Soccer90, the Soccer90 store at Toyota Stadium adjacent to the National Soccer Hall of Fame, and online via MLSstore.com with worldwide shipping. As FC Dallas prepares for the 2026 campaign, the DNA kit stands as a bold reminder that while eras change, identity endures.
