WWE Announces WrestleMania 43 to Be Held in Saudi Arabia

WWE announced Friday that WrestleMania 43 will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2027. It will be the first time in the event’s nearly 40-year history that WrestleMania is held outside North America.

Breaking Tradition

Since its debut in 1985, WrestleMania has been staged exclusively in the United States and once in Canada. The decision to move the 2027 edition to Saudi Arabia represents a major shift for WWE’s flagship event.

The announcement came as part of Riyadh Season, an annual entertainment and cultural initiative that has brought international sporting and music events to the region.

Long-Term Partnership

WWE has held multiple premium live events in Saudi Arabia since 2018 under a long-term partnership with the country’s General Entertainment Authority. Staging WrestleMania there is the most significant step yet in that agreement and aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader Vision 2030 plan to attract global entertainment.

Event Details

No specific stadium or venue has been announced. WWE confirmed that WrestleMania week in Riyadh will include its traditional lineup of events, such as SmackDown, Raw, the Hall of Fame ceremony, and NXT shows. Match cards and ticket information will be released at a later date.

Industry Impact

The move underscores WWE’s strategy to expand its international presence. Saudi Arabia has already hosted major boxing matches, international soccer competitions, and large-scale concerts. Bringing WrestleMania to Riyadh continues that trend and positions the event before a new audience.

What’s Next

Questions remain regarding logistics, including time zones for live broadcasts, accommodations for traveling fans, and how WWE will adapt its presentation for the region.

Despite those challenges, WrestleMania 43 is set to mark a historic milestone as WWE brings its biggest annual event to the Middle East for the first time.
