FC Dallas Secures Midfield Future with Kaick Contract Extension Through 2029

STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | May 14, 2026FC Dallas continued building toward the future Thursday by locking up one of its emerging young midfielders, announcing a long-term contract extension for Brazilian standout Kaick through the 2028-29 season with club options for 2029-30 and 2030-31.

The Future of FC Dallas with Kaick

The deal keeps Kaick in Frisco for the foreseeable future while maintaining his roster designation as a U22 Initiative player, further emphasizing FC Dallas’ commitment to developing young international talent into cornerstone contributors.

For a club that has increasingly leaned on youth development and high-upside signings, Kaick’s extension represents another major investment in the current core under head coach Eric Quill.

The 20-year-old midfielder has steadily grown into an important piece of Dallas’ midfield since arriving from Brazilian powerhouse Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense in March 2025.

“This club has always supported me and my family, which means a lot,” Kaick said following the announcement. “My adaptation has gone very well with my teammates and everyone at the club. I’m happy to take another big step in my career.”

Kaick’s comfort level on and off the field has become increasingly visible throughout the 2026 season.

The Brazilian midfielder has appeared in 13 matches this year and continues to establish himself as one of the more reliable two-way midfielders in Dallas’ system. His physicality, composure in possession and ability to absorb pressure have helped stabilize the center of the pitch for FC Dallas during stretches of the season.

Statistically, Kaick has quietly become one of the club’s most important possession players.

He ranks among five FC Dallas players with more than 300 completed passes this season, tallying 379 successful passes while also leading the team in fouls suffered with 19. His ability to draw contact and maintain possession has helped Dallas manage tempo and relieve pressure in key moments.

More importantly, the results have reflected his impact.

FC Dallas owns a 5-2-3 record in matches Kaick has started during the 2026 campaign, highlighting the growing importance of his role in Quill’s tactical setup.

Kaick also recently delivered one of his biggest moments of the season during Dallas’ 3-1 victory over Real Salt Lake on May 9, scoring his first goal of the year in front of the home crowd at Toyota Stadium.

The goal showcased the confidence and attacking instincts Dallas has been hoping to unlock more consistently from the young midfielder.

Earlier this season, he also registered his first assist of the campaign during FC Dallas’ dominant 4-0 road victory against D.C. United on April 4.

Since arriving in MLS, Kaick’s development has followed a steady upward trajectory.

In his first season with Dallas in 2025, he appeared in 27 matches while logging 1,668 minutes and contributing two goals. His first MLS goal came against St. Louis CITY SC on July 19, 2025, before adding another goal on Decision Day against Vancouver Whitecaps FC later that season.

Those performances helped solidify him as one of the club’s most promising long-term pieces entering 2026.

FC Dallas has increasingly built its roster around young talent capable of both immediate contribution and future transfer value. Kaick fits that mold perfectly.

The midfielder combines physical defensive ability with calm distribution and positional awareness beyond his age. His ability to break up play while also advancing the ball through midfield has made him a valuable connector between Dallas’ defensive shape and attacking transition game.

The extension also signals organizational confidence in the direction of the club’s rebuild under Quill.

Dallas has shown flashes of becoming one of the more dynamic attacking teams in MLS this season, led by stars such as Petar Musa and emerging contributors including Logan Farrington and Sam Sarver. Retaining a young midfield anchor like Kaick ensures continuity behind that attacking group.

For Kaick, the extension represents validation after a strong first year adapting to life in MLS and the United States.

For FC Dallas, it represents another important step toward building a sustainable contender around youth, athleticism and long-term stability.

Dallas now turns its attention back to league play this weekend as the club prepares for a Western Conference road matchup against the San Jose Earthquakes.
