STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | May 15, 2026 — FC Dallas winger Don Deedson Louicius is headed to the biggest stage in international soccer.
FC Dallas announced Friday that Louicius has officially been selected to represent the Haiti men’s national football team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking a historic milestone both for the player and the organization.
The selection gives FC Dallas active player representation in consecutive FIFA World Cups for the first time in club history following Jesús Ferreira appearing for the United States men’s national soccer team during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
For Louicius, the announcement represents the culmination of a rapid rise that has taken him from youth soccer in the United States to professional success in Europe and now onto the global stage with Haiti.
Don Deedson’s Journey to the World Cup
“This is a dream for every player,” Louicius said through the club announcement. “To represent Haiti in the World Cup means everything to me, my family and my country.”
Haiti returns to the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1974, ending a 52-year absence from soccer’s biggest tournament.
The Grenadiers were drawn into a challenging Group C that includes Scotland men’s national football team, Brazil men’s national football team and Morocco men’s national football team.
Haiti opens group play against Scotland on June 13 in Boston before facing powerhouse Brazil on June 19 in Philadelphia. The group stage concludes in Atlanta against Morocco.
Before the tournament officially begins, Haiti will play preparation matches against New Zealand men’s national football team and Peru men’s national football team in early June.
Louicius has already become an important figure within Haiti’s national team setup.
The winger enters the World Cup with 30 senior international appearances and 10 goals for Haiti since making his debut in March 2021 during FIFA World Cup qualifying against Belize.
One of his biggest international moments came late last year when he scored the game-winning goal against Nicaragua on Nov. 19, 2025 — a strike that officially clinched Haiti’s place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
That goal instantly cemented Louicius into Haitian soccer history.
Now, he will have the opportunity to help lead the nation onto the world stage.
Since arriving in Frisco during the summer of 2025, Louicius has steadily grown into a dangerous attacking option for FC Dallas head coach Eric Quill.
The speedy winger has appeared in nine matches this season and scored his first FC Dallas goal on April 11 against St. Louis CITY SC.
His pace, direct attacking style and ability to stretch defenses have added another layer to Dallas’ increasingly dynamic offense alongside stars such as Petar Musa and emerging young attackers Logan Farrington and Sam Sarver.
Before arriving in Major League Soccer, Louicius developed professionally in Denmark.
He spent two seasons with Odense Boldklub, where he produced 15 goals and 10 assists across all competitions while helping the club earn promotion to the Danish Superliga after winning the NordicBet Liga title in 2025.
Prior to his time at Odense, Louicius launched his professional career with Hobro IK in 2019, recording 22 goals and eight assists in 82 appearances.
His path to professional soccer also carries strong North Texas ties.
Louicius spent three years developing at Kalonji Soccer Academy, one of the region’s top youth programs. During his academy career, he helped lead the club to the 2019 U.S. Youth Soccer U-18 National Championship, scoring twice and adding an assist in the championship match against Solar SC.
That early success eventually helped propel him into the professional ranks and now onto the international spotlight.
For FC Dallas, Louicius’ World Cup selection represents another major achievement for a club long known for developing and elevating international talent.
The organization has increasingly positioned itself as one of MLS’ strongest developmental clubs, consistently producing players capable of competing on the world stage.
Now, Louicius will have an opportunity to showcase both himself and FC Dallas globally during one of the most anticipated World Cups in recent history.
And for Haiti, the winger may become one of the nation’s most important attacking weapons as the Grenadiers attempt to make history during their long-awaited return to soccer’s grandest tournament.
