STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | August 23, 2026 — The Dallas Wings return to College Park Center on Sunday afternoon with an opportunity to continue building momentum during a critical late-season home stretch.
Dallas enters the matchup with the Seattle Storm at 21-16, coming off a 91-85 victory over the Indiana Fever on Thursday night at American Airlines Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CT, with the game airing nationally on NBA TV and locally on KFAA. Ron Thulin will handle play-by-play duties alongside analysts Fran Harris and Alexis Davis.
Dallas Wings Aiming for Historic Season Sweep
The Wings have already taken the first two meetings against Seattle this season and can make franchise history with another victory. A win Sunday would give Dallas three victories over the Storm in a single season for the first time in Wings history.
Dallas arrives with confidence after one of its strongest home performances of the year.
Against Indiana, Arike Ogunbowale delivered a season-high 32 points, providing the offensive punch Dallas needed in the second half. Jessica Shepard added a career-high 26 points, while Awak Kuier made her presence felt defensively with a career-best seven blocks, setting a Wings franchise record for blocks in a game.
The 91-85 victory improved Dallas to 21-16 and gave the Wings their first regular-season series win over Indiana since 2023.
That performance also reinforced the balance that has become increasingly important for Dallas. Ogunbowale remains one of the team’s primary scoring threats, while Shepard’s interior production and Kuier’s defensive impact give the Wings multiple ways to control games.
Sunday’s meeting with Seattle brings another favorable opportunity, but Dallas has already seen how competitive the matchup can become.
The most recent meeting between the teams came on June 12 in Seattle, when the Wings escaped with a dramatic 112-110 overtime victory. Paige Bueckers scored 27 points in that game, including 17 between the fourth quarter and overtime, while reaching 1,000 career points.
That result gave Dallas another example of its ability to execute in high-pressure moments, something that could matter again if Seattle keeps the game close.
The Storm enter Sunday at 7-30 and are looking to bounce back from an 82-80 home loss to the Chicago Sky.
Despite the loss, Seattle received a strong performance from Dominique Malonga, who finished with 19 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, two steals and four blocks. Five Storm players reached double figures, showing that Seattle can still generate balanced production even during a difficult season.
For Dallas, limiting second-chance opportunities and controlling the paint will be important against a Seattle team capable of creating problems around the rim.
The Wings also have the chance to keep strengthening their position during a home-heavy portion of the schedule. With the postseason approaching, every win carries additional value as Dallas continues building rhythm and consistency.
Sunday’s matchup offers another test of that progress.
Dallas has already proven it can beat Seattle in a close game and has now secured two victories in the season series. The challenge is finishing the job.
With Ogunbowale coming off a season-best scoring night, Shepard playing some of her best basketball and Kuier providing elite rim protection, the Wings will look to carry that momentum back to College Park Center and add another important victory to their growing late-season résumé.
