FRISCO, Texas (May 4, 2026) — The Frisco RoughRiders continue to make an impact beyond the diamond, announcing the launch of the 2026 RoughRiders Scholarship Program presented by InTouch Credit Union, with applications now officially open for graduating seniors across North Texas.
Supporting the Community: The Frisco RoughRiders’ Scholarship Initiative
The initiative, a cornerstone of the RoughRiders’ community outreach efforts, will award five $1,000 scholarships to deserving students from the Class of 2026 who are pursuing postsecondary education. The program reflects a growing emphasis by the organization to invest not only in baseball development, but also in the future of the communities it represents.
RoughRiders President and General Manager Scott Burchett emphasized the importance of the partnership and its local impact.
“Once again, we’re incredibly grateful to collaborate with InTouch Credit Union on such a meaningful initiative,” Burchett said. “Supporting youth and education is a shared passion, especially locally, and we’re honored to help recognize these outstanding students through these scholarships.”
The program is open to students who meet specific academic and geographic criteria, ensuring the scholarships benefit those with strong ties to the North Texas region. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and must have graduated from a high school within Collin, Dallas, Denton, Rockwall or Tarrant counties.
In addition to academic performance, applicants are required to submit a personal essay of 500 words or fewer, a copy of their most recent academic transcript and two letters of recommendation. The application process is designed to highlight not only scholastic achievement but also character, leadership and community involvement.
For InTouch Credit Union, the continued partnership represents a commitment to supporting education and empowering the next generation. Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Tim McCoy expressed enthusiasm about the program’s return.
“InTouch Credit Union is very excited to once again be the presenting sponsor of the scholarship program offered to area students,” McCoy said. “We are proud to be a part of the program and eagerly look forward to seeing winners named later this year.”
The scholarship program is administered through the RoughRiders Foundation, the club’s charitable arm, which has played an increasingly visible role in community initiatives throughout the region. From youth engagement programs to educational support, the organization continues to expand its footprint beyond Riders Field.
While the RoughRiders remain focused on their on-field performance during the 2026 MiLB season, initiatives like the scholarship program underscore the club’s broader mission — building connections and creating opportunities within the community.
Programs such as this not only provide financial assistance but also reinforce the importance of education and personal development, aligning with the values both organizations aim to promote.
The deadline to apply for the 2026 scholarship program is Sunday, May 31 at 11:59 p.m. CT. With limited awards available, competition is expected to be strong, drawing applicants from across one of the fastest-growing regions in the country.
As the RoughRiders continue their season, the organization’s off-field efforts serve as a reminder that their impact extends far beyond the scoreboard — helping shape futures, support education and invest in the next generation of leaders across North Texas.
