STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| September 2, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders return to Riders Field on Wednesday night looking to bounce back in game two of their six-game series against the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. CT, with right-hander Ben Anderson set to take the mound for Frisco. Anderson enters the matchup at 2-6 with a 7.15 ERA. Amarillo will counter with right-hander Mason Marriott, who is set to make his first appearance of the season at the Double-A level.
Frisco enters the contest at 28-30 in the second half and 67-59 overall after dropping Tuesday’s opener 9-5.
Frisco RoughRiders Aim for Redemption
The RoughRiders found themselves in an early deficit after Amarillo scored seven runs over the first two innings. Druw Jones delivered a two-run home run in the opening frame, helping the Sod Poodles seize control before Frisco’s offense began to respond.
Rafe Perich drove in the Riders’ first run with an RBI single in the bottom of the first, and Dylan Dreiling cut further into the deficit with a two-run home run to deep center field in the third.
Frisco mounted one final push in the ninth when Sebastian Walcott homered to left-center and Perich added another RBI single, but the comeback ended at 9-5.
Despite the loss, Dreiling remains one of the hottest hitters in Minor League Baseball.
The Rangers’ No. 13 prospect enters Wednesday riding a 22-game hitting streak, the longest active streak in the minors. During that stretch, Dreiling is batting .430 with nine doubles, six home runs, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
He also leads the Texas League with a .319 batting average and ranks near the top of the circuit in OPS, hits, total bases and runs. Dreiling’s 22 homers are the most by a RoughRider since Blaine Crim hit 24 in 2022.
Walcott has been equally electric since returning to the lineup.
The Rangers’ top prospect has homered in three consecutive games and owns a seven-game hitting streak. Over that span, he is batting .444 with three doubles, three home runs and 16 runs scored.
Through 28 games this season, Walcott is hitting .310 with a .970 OPS, six home runs and 15 RBIs. His rapid accumulation of extra-base hits has added another dangerous element to a Frisco lineup already loaded with power.
Max Wagner has also remained a major threat. His 20 home runs give Frisco two players with at least 20 homers in the same season for the first time since 2012.
The Riders continue to rank among Double-A’s best offensive teams. Through 126 games, Frisco leads Double-A with 1,162 hits and a .270 batting average while ranking second with 756 runs. The club also leads the Texas League in doubles and slugging percentage.
Pitching consistency remains the key area to watch.
Frisco’s bullpen carried a heavy workload in August, while the starting rotation struggled to provide length. Since July 29, the RoughRiders are 12-18, with 11 of those victories coming when the offense scored at least six runs.
That makes Anderson’s start especially important Wednesday. If he can limit early damage and give the bullpen breathing room, Frisco’s offense has shown more than enough firepower to make a difference.
With a postseason berth already secured, the Riders remain focused on building sharper habits before the Texas League playoffs.
Wednesday night provides another opportunity to do exactly that — and to even the series against Amarillo in the process.
