STWF Sports| SPRINGDALE, Ark.| August 30, 2026 — Sebastian Walcott delivered the defining swing Sunday afternoon as the Frisco RoughRiders edged the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 7-6 at Arvest Ballpark, securing a split of the six-game series.
Frisco RoughRiders: A Season of Resilience
Walcott, the Texas Rangers’ top prospect, drove in three runs and launched a game-tying two-run home run in the sixth inning to help Frisco improve to 28-29 in the second half and 67-58 overall. Northwest Arkansas fell to 24-33 and 53-71.
The game opened as a pitchers’ duel, with the first 11 batters retired before the Naturals broke through in the bottom of the second. Justin Johnson connected on a solo home run to give Northwest Arkansas a 1-0 advantage.
Frisco responded in the third behind Walcott. The shortstop ripped a 115 mph line-drive single to even the score, providing the first sign that the RoughRiders’ offense was beginning to settle in.
Northwest Arkansas quickly regained control in the bottom half when Spencer Nivens doubled home two runs for a 3-1 lead.
The RoughRiders answered again in the fifth, taking advantage of traffic on the bases and some control issues from the Naturals’ pitching staff. Frisco pushed across three runs in the inning, with Max Wagner and Malcolm Moore each drawing bases-loaded walks as the Riders moved in front 4-3.
That lead did not last long.
Former RoughRider Jorge Alfaro delivered a major blow in the bottom of the fifth, crushing a three-run home run to swing the game back in Northwest Arkansas’ favor at 6-4.
Once again, Walcott provided the response.
In the sixth, the 20-year-old prospect turned on a pitch and drove a two-run home run out of the ballpark to tie the game at 6-6. The blast capped an impressive week for Walcott, who finished the series with nine hits, two home runs and three RBIs in the finale.
Frisco took the lead for good one inning later.
Luke Hanson executed a safety squeeze in the seventh against Anthony Simonelli, bringing home the go-ahead run and putting the RoughRiders ahead 7-6. The bunt produced Hanson’s second Double-A RBI and ultimately stood as the game-winning play.
From there, Frisco’s bullpen took over.
Janser Lara worked a scoreless sixth inning and earned the victory, improving to 6-2. Eric Loomis handled the late innings and closed out the one-run win for his fourth save of the season.
The RoughRiders also saw two notable hitting streaks continue. Dylan Dreiling extended his streak to 21 games, while Yeison Morrobel pushed his own to 11.
Dreiling’s streak remains one of the strongest offensive runs in the Texas League this season and adds to a lineup that continues to rank among Double-A’s most productive groups.
The victory allowed Frisco to leave Springdale with a series split after dropping two straight games entering Sunday.
With their penultimate road trip now complete, the RoughRiders return home for the final homestand of the regular season.
Frisco will take Monday off before opening a six-game set against the Amarillo Sod Poodles on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at 7:05 p.m. at Riders Field.
Already assured of a postseason berth, the RoughRiders now turn their attention toward sharpening their form for the stretch run.
