STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | May 9, 2026 — FC Dallas returns to Toyota Stadium on Saturday night looking to continue building momentum as it hosts Real Salt Lake in a key Western Conference matchup on Salute to Service night, presented by Toyota.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT in what could become one of the more important early-season tests for Eric Quill’s squad as the MLS standings begin tightening entering the middle portion of the 2026 campaign.

Dallas enters the weekend riding confidence after securing a historic road result against the New York Red Bulls on May 2. The victory marked FC Dallas’ first-ever win at Red Bull Arena in 7,283 days and further highlighted the club’s ability to earn points in difficult environments.

Now the focus shifts back home, where Dallas has continued turning Toyota Stadium into one of Major League Soccer’s toughest venues.

FC Dallas: A Force at Home

FC Dallas has sold out 42 consecutive MLS regular-season home matches, the longest streak in club history, and enters Saturday with a 14-2-8 all-time regular-season home record against Real Salt Lake.

Historically, the matchup has favored Dallas.

Across all competitions, FC Dallas owns a 26-15-14 record against RSL with an 84-65 goal differential. Dallas has also outscored Salt Lake 44-23 at Toyota Stadium in regular-season play.

While history favors Dallas, much of the current attention centers around forward Petar Musa.

Musa has emerged as one of the league’s premier attacking threats during the opening months of the season and enters the match tied for the MLS lead with 10 goals. The Croatian striker continues producing at an elite level, ranking among league leaders in expected goals, shots on target and goal involvements.

The striker has already delivered two braces this season while also becoming the first player in FC Dallas history to record multiple hat tricks for the club. Musa currently sits fourth on Dallas’ all-time scoring list after surpassing former club star Blas Pérez earlier this season.

Perhaps most importantly for Dallas, Musa continues to thrive in open play situations.

Nine of his 10 goals have come from open play, the highest total in MLS entering the weekend. His ability to find dangerous spaces in transition and capitalize inside the penalty area has transformed FC Dallas into one of the league’s more dangerous attacking clubs.

The numbers back it up.

Dallas enters Saturday seventh in MLS in goals scored with 20 while ranking among the league leaders in crosses, aerial duels won and total distance covered. The club has also displayed offensive balance with seven different goal scorers contributing this season.

Defensively, FC Dallas continues leaning on a strong spine anchored by goalkeeper Michael Collodi and defender Osaze Urhoghide.

Collodi has quietly emerged as one of MLS’ more reliable shot stoppers, ranking among league leaders in minutes played while recording several key performances this season, including a penalty save against former Dallas striker Jesús Ferreira in April.

Urhoghide, meanwhile, has become one of the league’s best aerial defenders and remains a critical presence in Quill’s defensive system.

Saturday’s match also features several intriguing connections between the clubs.

During the offseason, Dallas acquired forward Anderson Julio from Real Salt Lake in a move that added speed and vertical attacking ability to FC Dallas’ front line. Former Dallas defender Sam Junqua was part of the deal that sent Julio to Frisco.

FC Dallas head coach Eric Quill continues building his identity with the club during his second season leading the organization. Under Quill, Dallas has shown a commitment to aggressive attacking soccer while frequently rotating lineups and integrating young talent throughout the roster.

The club has already used 11 different starting lineups in 11 matches this season.
