MLS Recap: Petar Musa’s Brace Powers FC Dallas Past San Jose, 3-0, as Club Sets Scoring Record

STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| October 24, 2026 — FC Dallas delivered one of its most complete performances of the season Saturday night, defeating the San Jose Earthquakes 3-0 at Toyota Stadium behind two late goals from Petar Musa and a stoppage-time finish from Santiago Moreno.

FC Dallas’ Remarkable Offensive Performance

The victory moved Dallas to 15-7-9 with 54 points, keeping the club in second place in the Western Conference while adding another milestone to an already productive season.

After a scoreless opening half, Dallas remained patient and continued to press San Jose with aggressive defensive pressure and quick attacking movement.

That persistence finally paid off in the 83rd minute.

Moreno helped unlock the Earthquakes’ defense by playing forward into Bernard Kamungo, who found Musa near the top of the box. The Croatian striker finished the move to put Dallas ahead 1-0 and, in the process, set a new club single-season scoring record.

Dallas entered the night tied with its previous high of 55 goals, a mark first established in 1997 and matched in 2014. Musa’s opener pushed the club to 56, and Dallas was not finished.

Five minutes later, Musa struck again to make it 2-0, recording his 21st and 22nd goals of the season.

The brace gave him a new single-season career high and moved him to 56 career goals for FC Dallas. That total also ties Raúl Díaz Arce for the third-most goals by a player through his first three MLS seasons.

Musa’s performance also marked his ninth multigoal game for Dallas, tying Jesús Ferreira for second-most in club history.

Moreno put the final touch on the night in stoppage time, scoring his fourth goal of the season to extend the lead to 3-0 and push Dallas’ new single-season scoring record to 58 goals.

Head coach Eric Quill praised the team’s ability to control the match on both sides of the ball.

“From start to finish, we allowed them no space,” Quill said. “We were on top of them every time they played the ball into someone’s feet.”

Quill also highlighted the team’s composure and resilience after several earlier chances failed to find the net.

“This was a team effort,” he said. “These players deserve all the credit and excitement in that locker room.”

Dallas’ defensive performance was equally important.

Goalkeeper Daniel, facing his former club, needed just one save to preserve the clean sheet. The Dallas back line limited San Jose’s dangerous chances and helped secure the club’s eighth home win of the season.

Musa credited the collective effort after the match.

“We fought together, we played together and we showed our team spirit once again,” Musa said. “I’m happy to score two goals, but this is a reward for the whole team.”

Moreno’s impact off the bench also stood out. In addition to assisting on the game-winning goal, he added a goal of his own, giving Dallas another attacking option heading into the final stretch.

The atmosphere at Toyota Stadium remained strong as well, with Dallas recording its 49th consecutive regular-season sellout despite ongoing west-side renovations.

With a club scoring record now in hand and Musa continuing his MVP-caliber campaign, FC Dallas heads into the next match with momentum, confidence and one of the most dangerous attacks in the Western Conference.
