STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | June 28, 2026 — The Dallas Wings return home Sunday afternoon looking to reset after a difficult road finale and earn their first win of the season against one of the WNBA’s top teams.
Dallas will host the Minnesota Lynx at 1 p.m. CT at College Park Center in the Wings’ annual African American Heritage Game. The matchup will air nationally on CBS, with Jack Gordon on play-by-play, Stephanie Ready serving as analyst and Hailey Sutton reporting from the sideline.
Dallas Wings: A Team to Watch This Season
The Wings enter at 11-7 after falling 99-84 to the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday night at Michelob ULTRA Arena. Dallas had already secured the season series over Las Vegas, 2-1, marking its first season-series win against the Aces since 2018, but the road loss showed areas the Wings will need to clean up quickly against Minnesota.
Paige Bueckers led Dallas in Las Vegas with 25 points, six assists and three steals. Jessica Shepard matched her career high with 22 points and added a game-high 14 rebounds, continuing a standout season in the Wings’ frontcourt. Still, Dallas was hurt by early turnovers, a slow first quarter and a cold shooting night from beyond the arc.
Now the challenge gets no easier.
Minnesota enters Sunday’s game at 14-4 and sits atop the league standings. The Lynx have already beaten Dallas twice this season, winning May 14 in Texas and June 9 in Minnesota. The Wings will be looking for their first victory over the Lynx since Aug. 30, 2024.
Minnesota arrives after a tight 78-76 road win over the Washington Mystics on Wednesday night. Veteran forward Natasha Howard and rookie guard Olivia Miles each scored 21 points in the victory, giving the Lynx another example of their balanced production and ability to close games.
For Dallas, the matchup begins with Bueckers’ command of the offense. The second-year guard is averaging 19.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists this season. She reached 1,000 career points on June 22 at Seattle, tying Elena Delle Donne for the fourth-fastest player in WNBA history to reach the mark. Bueckers also tied the Wings’ single-game assist record with 14 assists at Las Vegas on June 5 and continues to operate as Dallas’ primary offensive organizer.
Azzi Fudd gives the Wings another key backcourt weapon. The rookie guard is averaging 13.2 points, 1.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game, showing two-way value early in her first WNBA season. Fudd scored a career-high 26 points at Seattle on June 22 and has already delivered several record-setting rookie moments, including a five-steal performance at Golden State and a six-three-pointer game against New York.
Arike Ogunbowale remains one of Dallas’ most dangerous shot-makers. The franchise’s all-time leader in points, field goals, three-pointers and free throws is averaging 13.9 points per game and gives the Wings a proven late-clock scorer. Her ability to get going against Minnesota’s disciplined defense could be one of the swing points Sunday.
Inside, Shepard continues to be one of the most productive frontcourt players in the league. She is averaging 14.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists, giving Dallas scoring, rebounding and playmaking from the forward spot. Shepard recorded a historic triple-double against Las Vegas on May 28 with 22 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists, becoming the only player in WNBA history to post that stat line. She also owns the only two triple-doubles in the league this season.
Awak Kuier has provided length and rim protection since moving into the starting lineup. The 6-foot-6 forward is averaging 5.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 block per game. Against a Lynx team with size, depth and veteran frontcourt experience, Kuier’s defensive presence will be important.
The Wings will need a sharper start than they had in Las Vegas. Against the Aces, Dallas fell behind early and spent most of the night chasing. Against Minnesota, empty possessions and defensive breakdowns can quickly become costly.
Sunday’s game gives Dallas a chance to protect home court, respond to a road loss and measure itself against the league leader. For the Wings, the formula is clear: value the ball, rebound with force, find clean perimeter looks and allow Bueckers and Shepard to keep the offense connected.
With national television, a heritage celebration and a first-place opponent in town, Sunday brings both meaning and opportunity to Arlington.
