WNBA Preview: Dallas Wings Look to Complete Season Sweep in Road Test Against Las Vegas Aces

STWF Sports | LAS VEGAS | June 25, 2026— The Dallas Wings will close out their two-game road stretch Thursday night with one of their biggest tests of the season, facing the Las Vegas Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

Dallas enters the matchup at 11-6 and riding momentum after a thrilling overtime win in Seattle. Las Vegas comes in at 12-5 after dropping its most recent game at home to the New York Liberty. Tipoff is set for 9 p.m. CT, with the game airing locally on KFAA. Ron Thulin will handle play-by-play duties alongside analyst Fran Harris. The matchup will also air nationally on NBA TV.

For Dallas, Thursday’s game carries more than typical regular-season weight. The Wings are 2-0 against the Aces this season and will be looking to secure their first regular-season sweep over Las Vegas since 2018. Dallas will also try to earn its first road win against the Aces at Michelob ULTRA Arena since June 27, 2018.

The Dallas Wings Aim for a Historic Season Sweep

The Wings enter the matchup after one of their most exciting wins of the year, a 112-110 overtime victory over the Seattle Storm on Monday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Dallas needed every possession to survive a back-and-forth finish, and the win gave the team its third victory in the last four games.

Paige Bueckers led the charge with 27 points, including 17 between the fourth quarter and overtime. Her performance also pushed her past 1,000 career points, adding another major milestone to her fast-rising WNBA résumé. Bueckers continues to give Dallas elite scoring, playmaking and late-game control, and her ability to take over in pressure moments has become a major part of the Wings’ identity.

Azzi Fudd also delivered a career night in Seattle, scoring a career-high 26 points. Her biggest basket came with 13.3 seconds left in overtime, a clutch score that ultimately proved to be the game-deciding shot. Fudd’s growth as both a scorer and two-way player has added another dangerous layer to a Dallas backcourt that continues to create problems for opponents.

The Wings also made league history in the win, setting a new WNBA record with 48 made field goals. Dallas surpassed the previous mark of 47, set by the Phoenix Mercury in 2010. The record reflected the team’s offensive balance, shot creation and pace, all of which have helped Dallas build one of the league’s most dangerous attacks.

That offensive rhythm will be important against an Aces team still loaded with star power and championship experience.

The last time Dallas and Las Vegas met, the Wings delivered one of their most complete performances of the season. On June 15 in Texas, Dallas defeated Las Vegas 99-66, the largest margin of victory for the Wings in series history against the Aces. Five Wings scored in double figures, led by Arike Ogunbowale’s game-high 22 points.

That result gave Dallas confidence, but Thursday’s matchup presents a different challenge. Las Vegas will be at home, looking to respond after an 87-76 loss to the New York Liberty on Tuesday night. Jackie Young led the Aces in that game with 19 points, four rebounds and seven assists, while A’ja Wilson added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Wilson remains the focal point for Las Vegas and one of the toughest individual matchups in the league. Dallas will need strong interior defense, disciplined help rotations and consistent rebounding to limit second-chance opportunities. The Wings’ frontcourt, led by Jessica Shepard, will be key in that battle.

Shepard has been one of Dallas’ most steady contributors this season, providing scoring, rebounding and playmaking from the frontcourt. Her ability to facilitate offense gives the Wings flexibility, especially when defenses load up on Bueckers, Fudd or Ogunbowale.

For Dallas, the formula starts with pace, ball movement and defensive discipline. The Wings have already shown they can beat Las Vegas with balance and pressure. Now they must prove they can do it on the road.

A win Thursday would not only complete the season sweep, but also strengthen Dallas’ position among the league’s top teams. For a Wings group coming off an overtime thriller, the challenge is clear: carry the confidence into Las Vegas and finish the road trip with another statement.
