STWF Sports | DALLAS, Texas | August 20, 2026 — The Dallas Wings return home Thursday night looking to reset after a difficult road loss and build momentum during a crucial four-game stretch at American Airlines Center.
Dallas (20-16) will host the Indiana Fever (24-12) at 7 p.m. CT on Aug. 20, opening a four-game homestand against one of the hottest teams in the WNBA. The matchup will stream nationally on Prime, with Michael Grady handling play-by-play alongside analysts Kara Lawson and Kayla Grey.
Locally, the game will air on WFAA and KFAA. WFAA’s coverage begins with a live pregame show from American Airlines Center at 6:30 p.m., featuring Mike Leslie on play-by-play, Kim Adams as analyst and Alexis Davis reporting from the sideline.
The Wings return to Dallas following a 78-70 loss to the Golden State Valkyries on Monday night. Dallas fell behind by as many as 20 points before mounting a late push, outscoring Golden State 24-16 in the fourth quarter. The comeback trimmed the deficit to six, but the Wings were unable to close the gap.
Paige Bueckers led Dallas with 21 points, 19 of which came after halftime. Arike Ogunbowale added 17 points as the Wings attempted to recover from an uneven first three quarters.
Thursday’s meeting carries additional weight because it will determine the regular-season series between Dallas and Indiana.
Key Players for the Dallas Wings in This Matchup
The teams have split their first two matchups, each producing a different kind of test for the Wings.
Dallas opened the season series with a dramatic 107-104 victory in Indianapolis on May 9, handing the Fever an early home loss in a high-scoring contest. Indiana responded last Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, defeating the Wings 98-87 to even the season series at 1-1.
Now the deciding game shifts to Dallas.
The Wings will have to slow an Indiana team entering Thursday with significant momentum. The Fever have won five consecutive games and most recently earned a 101-95 road victory over the Toronto Tempo on Tuesday night.
Kelsey Mitchell was at the center of that performance, scoring 29 points while adding three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Her shot-making continues to give Indiana a dangerous perimeter option capable of changing a game quickly.
For Dallas, the challenge will be maintaining defensive discipline while generating more consistent offense throughout all four quarters.
The Wings showed against Golden State that they can create pressure when playing with pace and urgency, but falling into a large early deficit proved too much to overcome. Against Indiana, another slow start could be particularly costly given the Fever’s recent form and scoring ability.
Dallas will also be playing its first home game since announcing that rookie guard Azzi Fudd will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure to address ongoing right knee soreness. Her absence removes a key shooter and perimeter defender from the Wings’ rotation, placing greater responsibility on the rest of the backcourt during the final weeks of the regular season.
The opportunity, however, is significant.
With four consecutive games at American Airlines Center, Dallas has a chance to establish rhythm at home and strengthen its position entering the closing stretch of the season.
That begins Thursday against Indiana.
A victory would not only end the Fever’s five-game winning streak but also give Dallas the season-series advantage over one of the league’s strongest teams.
For the Wings, the formula will be straightforward: start faster, defend with consistency and avoid spending another night trying to erase a major deficit.
Against a confident Indiana team, Dallas may not get a second chance.
