WNBA Recap: Arike Ogunbowale’s Record 45-Point Night Lifts Dallas Wings Past Golden State in Overtime Thriller

STWF Sports| ARLINGTON, Texas| September 30, 2026 — Arike Ogunbowale delivered one of the greatest playoff performances in WNBA history Wednesday night, scoring a league-record 45 points to lead the Dallas Wings to a 108-100 overtime victory over the Golden State Valkyries in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series at a sold-out College Park Center.

The Wings also set franchise postseason records for points with 108, made three-pointers with 12 and made free throws with 32.

Golden State led 26-23 after the first quarter, but Dallas answered with a strong second period.

The Wings used a 13-5 run to take a 43-41 advantage and closed the half ahead 50-45. Dallas shot 57.1 percent before halftime, the best first-half field-goal percentage in franchise postseason history.

Alysha Clark provided a major boost off the bench, finishing with 21 points while shooting 6-of-7 from the floor and 3-of-4 from three.

Aziaha James also delivered her best playoff performance, scoring 13 points in 18 minutes. Paige Bueckers added 10 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Golden State Pushes Back

The Valkyries regained control in the third quarter behind hot perimeter shooting, outscoring Dallas 29-22 and taking a 74-72 lead into the fourth.

Golden State continued to apply pressure behind Gabby Williams, who finished with 36 points, six rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

The game remained tight throughout the final period.

Dallas trailed 93-90 with 14.6 seconds left before Ogunbowale drilled the tying three. The game then moved to overtime after Golden State successfully challenged a foul call in the final seconds.

Ogunbowale Takes Over in Overtime

Ogunbowale opened overtime with a banked three-pointer, immediately putting Dallas back in front.

Golden State stayed close and eventually tied the game at 100-100 with 2:26 remaining. From there, the Wings shut the door.

The victory ended Dallas’ seven-game losing streak against Golden State and marked the Wings’ first win over the Valkyries since June 17, 2025.

It also improved Dallas to 3-1 all-time in postseason Game 2s.

Now, everything comes down to Friday night.
