Dylan Dreiling Earns Texas League Player of the Week Honors After Power Surge for RoughRiders

STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | May 11, 2026Frisco RoughRiders outfielder Dylan Dreiling continues emerging as one of the organization’s fastest-rising young stars after being named Texas League Player of the Week for May 4 through May 10, Minor League Baseball announced Monday.

The honor marks the first weekly league award earned by a RoughRiders player during the 2026 season and further highlights Dreiling’s explosive offensive breakout during Frisco’s recent series against the Northwest Arkansas Naturals.

Dylan Dreiling’s Impact on the Team

In just five games before Sunday’s series finale was canceled because of inclement weather, Dreiling delivered one of the most productive weeks by any hitter in the Texas League this season.

The 23-year-old led the league with four home runs while tying for the league lead with eight RBIs and 19 total bases during the week. He also posted a .368 batting average after going 7-for-19 at the plate.

Perhaps most impressively, Dreiling displayed outstanding plate discipline throughout the series, drawing six walks while striking out only once.

The former University of Tennessee standout consistently punished mistakes from opposing pitchers while maintaining a mature approach throughout each at-bat.

His biggest performance came Saturday night at Riders Field.

Facing Northwest Arkansas, Dreiling blasted two solo home runs in the first and third innings for the first multi-home run game of his professional career. The performance energized the Riders Field crowd and further cemented his status as one of the hottest hitters in the Texas League entering mid-May.

The recent power surge has dramatically elevated Dreiling’s season numbers.

Through 23 games, the Hays, Kansas native is batting .300 while tying for the team lead with six home runs. His .909 OPS currently ranks ninth in the Texas League and reflects the growing balance between his contact ability, power production and overall offensive consistency.

For the RoughRiders, Dreiling’s emergence could become one of the most important developments of the season.

Already known throughout the organization for his athleticism and offensive upside, the young outfielder appears to be rapidly developing into one of the most complete hitters in the Texas Rangers farm system.

The former second-round draft selection entered professional baseball with significant expectations after helping Tennessee establish itself as one of college baseball’s premier programs.

Now in his third professional season within the Rangers organization, Dreiling appears to be settling comfortably into Double-A competition while continuing to refine multiple areas of his game.

Last season, Dreiling already showcased his versatility while playing in the South Atlantic League.

He became one of only two players in the league to record at least 20 doubles, 10 home runs and 15 stolen bases during the 2025 campaign — an early indication of the all-around offensive skill set that continues developing in Frisco this season.

The timing of Dreiling’s breakout has also provided a major boost for one of the most productive offenses in Minor League Baseball.

The RoughRiders currently lead the Texas League in hits, runs scored and batting average while ranking near the top of the league in slugging percentage, OPS and home runs.

Dreiling’s recent production only deepens a lineup already featuring several hot hitters, including Corey Joyce, Keyber Rodriguez, Marcus Lee Sang and John Taylor.

Frisco manager Carlos Cardoza has repeatedly emphasized the organization’s focus on aggressive but disciplined offensive approaches this season, and Dreiling’s recent performance perfectly reflects that philosophy.

His ability to combine patience with power has made him increasingly dangerous throughout the lineup.

While the weekly honor recognizes Dreiling’s individual accomplishments, it also represents another positive sign for a Rangers development system that continues producing promising young talent across multiple levels.

For Dreiling himself, however, the focus now shifts back to continuing the momentum.

The RoughRiders travel to Midland this week for a six-game road series against the Midland RockHounds, the Double-A affiliate of the Athletics.

The series opener is scheduled for Tuesday morning at Momentum Bank Ballpark.

If Dreiling’s performance over the last week is any indication, opposing Texas League pitching staffs may soon find themselves preparing for one of the most dangerous young bats in Double-A baseball.
