STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | August 16, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to close their six-game series against the San Antonio Missions with a third consecutive victory Sunday evening at Riders Field.

First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT, with left-hander Blake Townsend getting the start for Frisco against San Antonio right-hander Ian Koenig. Townsend enters at 4-5 with a 5.00 ERA, while Koenig is 5-9 with a 4.47 mark.

Frisco carries momentum into the finale after a convincing 7-1 win Saturday night, a victory powered by two home runs from Dylan Dreiling and another strong performance from the bullpen.

San Antonio scored first on a solo home run from Tirso Ornelas, but Dreiling answered immediately with a solo shot in the bottom of the first. Rafe Perich put Frisco ahead with another home run in the fourth before Sebastian Walcott added an RBI double as the RoughRiders extended the lead.

Dreiling then delivered the knockout blow in the eighth, launching a three-run homer to make it 7-1.

The center fielder enters Sunday as one of the hottest hitters in the Texas League.

Over his last 29 games, Dreiling is batting .378 with 10 home runs and 26 RBIs while posting a 1.170 OPS. He also carries a 10-game hitting streak into the finale, batting .439 during that run with five home runs and 13 RBIs.

His 21 home runs are the most by a RoughRider since Blaine Crim hit 24 in 2022 and the most by a center fielder in recorded franchise history.

Frisco has also consistently punished San Antonio’s bullpen during the series.

Through five games, Missions relievers have posted a 13.21 ERA, allowing 23 earned runs over 15.2 innings. RoughRiders hitters are batting .430 against San Antonio’s bullpen with eight home runs.

That late-inning production has become a major theme for Frisco this season.

The RoughRiders lead Double-A with 241 runs scored in the seventh inning or later and have produced 92 eighth-inning runs, the most in the Texas League. During the second half alone, Frisco has scored 51 times in the eighth.

Max Wagner has been one of the biggest contributors to that success.

Wagner enters Sunday with a career-high 16 home runs and has hit 12 over his last 37 games. During his last eight contests, he is batting .364 with three doubles, three home runs and 12 RBIs.

Sebastian Walcott has also continued to make an impact following his return from the injured list.

The Rangers’ top prospect is batting .338 through his first 16 games this season with nine doubles, three home runs, 10 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Despite missing time, Walcott is tied for fourth in Texas League runs scored since the All-Star break.

The RoughRiders have also developed into one of the most productive offenses in Double-A.

Why the Frisco RoughRiders Are a Force to Be Reckoned With

Through 112 games, Frisco leads Double-A with 1,023 hits and a .268 team batting average. The Riders also lead the Texas League in doubles, slugging percentage and OPS while ranking second in runs scored at 665.

Frisco has recorded at least eight hits in eight consecutive games, its longest such stretch of the season.

Sunday provides one more opportunity to carry that offensive rhythm into the final game of the homestand.

The RoughRiders have already secured a postseason berth after winning the Texas League South Division first-half championship, but the immediate goal remains finishing the series with another strong performance.

With Dreiling surging, Walcott back in the lineup and Frisco continuing to thrive late in games, the RoughRiders enter Sunday positioned to close the series on a high note.
