STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | August 15, 2026 — Dylan Dreiling continued his power surge Saturday night, blasting two home runs while the Frisco RoughRiders’ pitching staff shut down the San Antonio Missions in a convincing 7-1 victory at Riders Field.
The win was Frisco’s second straight and guaranteed the RoughRiders at least a split of the six-game series. Frisco improved to 23-21 in the second half and 62-50 overall, while San Antonio dropped to 20-24 and 51-62.
Dylan Dreiling’s Impact on the Game
San Antonio struck first in the opening inning when Tirso Ornelas launched a solo home run, giving the Missions a quick 1-0 advantage.
Dreiling wasted little time answering.
In the bottom half of the inning, the Frisco center fielder drove a solo homer against San Antonio starter Matthew Watson, immediately pulling the RoughRiders even at 1-1.
The score remained tied until the fourth, when Rafe Perich supplied another display of power.
Perich connected on a solo home run to give Frisco its first lead of the night at 2-1. The blast continued a tremendous power season for Perich, who now owns 24 home runs between High-A Hub City and Double-A Frisco, the most by any hitter in the Texas Rangers’ minor league system.
Perich has hit 13 of those home runs since joining the RoughRiders after belting 11 with Hub City.
Frisco created more separation in the fifth.
The RoughRiders scored twice during the inning, with Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott contributing an RBI double that helped extend the lead to 4-1.
From there, Frisco’s pitching took over.
Brock Porter and Ben Detaeye combined for six scoreless innings while each making his Double-A debut. Their ability to neutralize San Antonio’s lineup proved particularly important one night after the Missions scored 12 runs on 15 hits during Friday’s wild 14-12 Frisco victory.
The RoughRiders received a completely different pitching performance Saturday.
Joey Danielson, Porter, Detaeye and Janser Lara combined to cover all nine innings during Frisco’s second consecutive bullpen game, limiting San Antonio to only one run on six hits.
With the pitching staff firmly in control, Dreiling supplied the finishing blow in the eighth.
Frisco created another scoring opportunity before Dreiling lifted a high drive toward deep center field. The ball carried over the fence for a three-run homer, giving the RoughRiders a commanding 7-1 advantage.
It was Dreiling’s second home run of the night and his fourth over the last three games.
The outfielder now has 21 home runs this season, the most by a RoughRider since Blaine Crim hit 24 in 2022. His total is also the second-highest by an outfielder in recorded franchise history.
Dreiling has been particularly dangerous since the second half began, hitting 13 home runs during that span — the third-highest total in the Texas League.
Saturday’s victory also represented a dramatic turnaround for the Frisco pitching staff. After surrendering 12 runs Friday, the RoughRiders allowed only one Saturday while controlling the game after Ornelas’ first-inning homer.
Combined with another big night from Dreiling and continued power from Perich, the performance gave Frisco its second consecutive victory and moved the club ahead 3-2 in the series.
The RoughRiders will now have an opportunity to secure the series victory in Sunday’s finale at Riders Field.
Left-hander Blake Townsend is scheduled to start for Frisco with a 4-5 record and 5.00 ERA. San Antonio will counter with right-hander Ian Koenig, who enters at 5-9 with a 4.47 ERA.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT.
