STWF Sports | SAN FRANCISCO, California | August 17, 2026 — The Dallas Wings will try to close their two-game road trip on a high note Monday night when they face one of the WNBA’s hottest teams, the Golden State Valkyries, at Chase Center.
Dallas enters the matchup at 20-15, while Golden State comes in at 24-9 and riding a five-game winning streak. Tipoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. CT on August 17.
The game will stream nationally on Peacock, with Zora Stephenson on play-by-play alongside analysts Sarah Kustok and Caroline Pineda. In the Dallas-Fort Worth market, the game will also air locally on KFAA with Ron Thulin and Fran Harris on the call.
The Wings are looking to bounce back after a 98-87 road loss to the Indiana Fever on Friday night.
The Dallas Wings’ Key to Victory
Dallas remained competitive throughout much of that game, but Indiana pulled away in the fourth quarter. Paige Bueckers led the Wings with 29 points, six rebounds, six assists and two steals in 36 minutes, while Arike Ogunbowale added 20 points and five rebounds.
Bueckers continues to be one of Dallas’ most reliable offensive options, and her ability to create shots both for herself and teammates will be crucial against a Golden State team that has consistently found ways to control games.
Monday will also give Dallas another opportunity to solve a matchup that has been difficult this season.
Golden State owns a 2-0 record against the Wings in 2026, earning victories on June 17 in San Francisco and August 7 in Dallas. The Valkyries have now won five consecutive regular-season meetings against the Wings dating back to Dallas’ victory in the teams’ first-ever matchup on June 17, 2025.
Breaking that streak will require Dallas to handle Golden State’s defensive pressure and avoid long scoring droughts.
The Valkyries enter Monday with plenty of momentum after defeating the Chicago Sky 91-71 on Wednesday night at Chase Center.
Veteran guard Tiffany Hayes led Golden State with a season-high 22 points, while Gabby Williams and Veronica Burton each contributed 13.
That balance has been a major part of Golden State’s recent success. The Valkyries can attack with multiple scoring options, forcing opposing defenses to remain disciplined across every position.
For Dallas, controlling the perimeter and limiting transition opportunities will be particularly important.
The Wings will also need offensive balance behind Bueckers and Ogunbowale. When Dallas is at its best, scoring production comes from multiple areas of the floor rather than relying heavily on its primary guards.
The matchup comes during an important stretch of the schedule.
Dallas will return home after Monday’s game and prepare for a rematch with Indiana on Thursday, August 20, at American Airlines Center. The season series between the Wings and Fever is tied 1-1, giving that game additional significance.
Before turning attention back to Indiana, however, Dallas has a difficult assignment waiting in San Francisco.
Golden State has won five straight, owns one of the league’s strongest records and has already beaten Dallas twice this season.
That makes Monday an opportunity for the Wings to measure themselves against a top opponent and potentially build momentum heading into the final portion of the regular season.
A win would not only end the road trip on a positive note, but also snap Dallas’ five-game regular-season losing streak against Golden State.
With Bueckers and Ogunbowale leading the way, the Wings will look to make the third meeting of the season the one that finally swings in their favor.
