STWF Sports | SAN ANTONIO | June 12, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders enter Friday night with a chance to keep one of the hottest winning streaks in Minor League Baseball alive.
Frisco RoughRiders: A Team on the Rise
Frisco meets the San Antonio Missions, the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, at 7:05 p.m. for the fourth game of a six-game series at Nelson Wolff Stadium. The RoughRiders will send left-hander Dalton Pence to the mound. Pence enters with a 2-1 record and a 2.53 ERA. San Antonio will counter with left-hander Jagger Haynes, who comes in at 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA.
The RoughRiders are riding a six-game winning streak after defeating the Missions 6-3 on Thursday night. The streak is Frisco’s longest since August 2025 and the second-longest active winning streak in Minor League Baseball, trailing only Low-A Dunedin’s seven-game run.
Thursday’s win showed the formula that has powered Frisco’s recent surge: timely offense, steady starting pitching and dominant bullpen work.
San Antonio struck first, scoring three runs in the second inning against RoughRiders starter Winston Santos. But Santos settled in from there, finishing with five innings while striking out a season-best nine batters. His ability to limit the damage gave Frisco’s offense time to respond.
The RoughRiders wasted little time answering. In the top of the third, Frisco erupted for five runs against San Antonio starter Miguel Mendez. Dylan Dreiling brought home the first run with a sacrifice fly, Orlando Martinez followed with an RBI double and Keith Jones II delivered the biggest swing of the inning with a two-run double. Arturo Disla capped the rally with an RBI single, giving Frisco a 5-3 lead.
That score held until the seventh inning, when Marcus Lee Sang came home on a wild pitch to stretch the advantage to 6-3. From there, the bullpen took control.
Zach Bryant, Joey Danielson and Dustin Saenz combined for four scoreless innings. Saenz handled the final two frames to earn his first save of the season with the RoughRiders. Frisco’s bullpen has now thrown 11 scoreless innings in the series, the most by any relief group in Minor League Baseball this week.
That bullpen has become one of the defining strengths of the club. Frisco ranks second in the Texas League with a 3.82 bullpen ERA, a mark that also sits third across Double-A. Over the last 14 games, the RoughRiders’ bullpen owns a 2.63 ERA, the best in Double-A and one of the top marks in the minors.
During the six-game winning streak, Frisco has outscored opponents 44-18 and owns the best ERA in the Texas League over that stretch at 3.06. The bullpen has been even sharper, posting a 1.59 ERA across 22.2 innings.
Frisco has also continued its long-running success in San Antonio. Since 2021, the RoughRiders are 42-16 at Nelson Wolff Stadium, good for a .724 winning percentage. During that span, Frisco has posted a 2.50 team ERA at the ballpark and outscored the Missions 284-159. Last season, the Riders went 12-1 at The Wolff.
Offensively, the RoughRiders remain one of the Texas League’s most productive clubs. Through 58 games, Frisco ranks second in the league with 521 hits, second in batting average at .268 and second in runs with 367. The Riders are averaging 6.4 runs per game and have scored seven or more runs in 25 games.
Rafe Perich continues to be a key name in the lineup. Since joining Frisco, he has homered four times in his first 12 games. Across High-A Hub City and Frisco, Perich leads the Rangers organization with 15 home runs and was named the Texas Rangers’ May Minor League Player of the Month after hitting .327 with 11 homers and 32 RBIs.
Dreiling remains another player to watch, even after his 28-game on-base streak ended Thursday. The Rangers’ No. 10 prospect is still fifth in the Texas League in batting average at .306 and has been one of Frisco’s most consistent bats during the first half.
Friday’s matchup gives the RoughRiders another opportunity to strengthen their position in the Texas League South race. With the division race tightening and the first half winding down, every game carries weight.
Pence will try to keep the momentum going against a Missions club looking to stop Frisco’s control of the series. If the RoughRiders continue to pair early offense with their bullpen’s current form, they will have a chance to stretch the streak to seven and move one step closer to their first-half goal.
