STWF Sports | NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. | May 30, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders return to Dickey-Stephens Park on Saturday night looking to carry the momentum from a dominant doubleheader finale into the fourth game of their five-game series against the Arkansas Travelers.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. CT, with right-hander Austin Bergner making the start for Frisco against Arkansas right-hander Ryan Sloan, who enters the matchup at 0-2 with a 5.17 ERA. The game follows a Friday split in which Arkansas took the opener 4-0 before Frisco answered with an emphatic 8-0 victory in the second game.
For the RoughRiders, the nightcap was exactly the type of response they needed after being quieted offensively earlier in the evening.
Frisco RoughRiders Aim for Series Dominance
Frisco was limited to two hits in the first game as Arkansas starter Kade Anderson delivered 5.1 shutout innings with nine strikeouts and no walks. The Travelers broke through in the fourth inning on a solo home run from Lazaro Montes before Caleb Cali added a three-run double in the sixth to put the game away. Winston Santos took the loss for Frisco despite striking out a season-high eight batters over 5.2 innings.
The second game looked completely different.
The RoughRiders struck early with a four-run second inning, sparked by an Ian Moller home run. Marcus Lee Sang later scored on an Arkansas error, and Dylan Dreiling delivered the biggest swing of the inning with a two-run homer to make it 4-0. Frisco added four more runs in the sixth behind a Max Wagner RBI single, another Travelers error and a two-run blast from Frainyer Chavez.
On the mound, Dalton Pence gave Frisco one of its strongest starts of the season. He worked six shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six and walking one. It marked only the second six-inning outing of his career and gave him his first Double-A win. The performance also gave the RoughRiders their fourth quality start of the season, a category in which they remain unbeaten at 4-0.
That pitching performance could be a key confidence boost entering Saturday’s matchup.
Frisco owns a 5.05 team ERA, sixth in the Texas League, but the RoughRiders were much sharper in Friday’s doubleheader. They allowed only four runs across 13 innings, good for a 2.77 ERA on the day. If Bergner can continue that trend, Frisco will have a chance to control the game early and put pressure on Sloan.
Offensively, the Riders continue to be one of the most dangerous lineups in the league.
Frisco leads the Texas League with 437 hits and a .273 team batting average. The club is also tied for first in runs with 300, averaging 6.4 runs per game. The RoughRiders rank first in slugging percentage and OPS, while their 63 home runs are third in the league and the second-most in recorded franchise history through 47 games.
Power has become a defining part of this Frisco club. The Riders are the only Double-A team with 10 players who have hit at least four home runs this season. Dreiling and Chavez both connected for their seventh home runs of the year on Friday, adding more depth to an already dangerous lineup.
Dreiling enters Saturday as one of the hottest hitters in the Texas League. The Rangers’ No. 10 prospect is riding an 18-game on-base streak and a 10-game hitting streak. During the on-base streak, he is slashing .318/.424/.571 with five home runs, 14 RBIs and 14 walks. He also ranks sixth in the Texas League in batting average and ninth in on-base percentage.
Arturo Disla has also made an immediate impact since joining Frisco. Nicknamed “The Buffalo,” Disla has hit safely in 11 of 13 games with the RoughRiders and is batting .400 with a 1.152 OPS, three home runs and 14 RBIs. Between High-A Hub City and Frisco, he has dominated left-handed pitching, hitting .472 against southpaws.
For Frisco, the formula Saturday is clear: get another strong start, strike early and force Arkansas to chase the game.
The RoughRiders have scored 44 first-inning runs this season, tied for sixth-most in the minors, and they have been at their best when creating early separation. Frisco is 16-1 when scoring eight or more runs, a number that shows how dangerous this offense can be once it gets rolling.
After splitting Friday’s doubleheader, Saturday’s game offers the RoughRiders a chance to take control of the series and build off one of their cleanest wins of the season.
