STWF Sports | SAN ANTONIO |June 14, 2026 — The Frisco RoughRiders will look to close out their six-game series against the San Antonio Missions on a high note Sunday evening, carrying plenty of momentum into the finale after a late offensive explosion powered them to a 10-1 win on Saturday night at Nelson Wolff Stadium.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m., with Frisco sending left-hander Dylan MacLean to the mound. MacLean enters the matchup with a 4-0 record and 4.56 ERA, while San Antonio, the Double-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, will counter with right-hander Victor Lizarraga, who comes in at 2-6 with a 6.89 ERA.
The RoughRiders enter the finale at 34-26, while the Missions sit at 26-36. Frisco has already secured another series win, but Sunday offers a chance to add one more statement before leaving San Antonio.
Frisco RoughRiders Offensive Power in Late Innings
Saturday’s game was quiet for most of the night before the RoughRiders turned the final two innings into a complete takeover. San Antonio struck first when Tirso Ornelas launched a solo home run in the opening inning, giving the Missions a 1-0 lead. That score held until the eighth, when Frisco finally broke through.
The RoughRiders took advantage of a throwing error to push across two runs and grab a 2-1 lead against Sadrac Franco, who was tagged with the loss. Then came the ninth inning, when Frisco put together one of its loudest offensive frames of the season.
A bases-loaded walk from Dylan Dreiling extended the lead before Rafe Perich cleared the bases with a three-run triple. Orlando Martinez followed with an RBI double, and the RoughRiders added even more damage when Keith Jones II and Julian Brock delivered back-to-back home runs. By the time the inning ended, Frisco had scored eight runs and turned a one-run game into a 10-1 rout.
The late surge was another example of what has made Frisco one of the most dangerous offenses in Double-A. The RoughRiders have been especially productive in the late innings, leading Double-A in runs scored from the seventh inning on with 136. That ability to create pressure late has helped them stay competitive even in games where the offense starts slowly.
Frisco’s bullpen has also been a major strength. The RoughRiders now own the best bullpen ERA in Double-A at 3.80, a mark that also ranks among the best in Minor League Baseball. Over the last 15 games, the bullpen has been even sharper, posting a 2.71 ERA. This week in San Antonio, Frisco relievers have combined for 19.1 innings while allowing only three runs, good for a 1.40 ERA.
That combination of late offense and reliable relief pitching gives Frisco a strong formula heading into the series finale.
Perich remains one of the hottest names in the Rangers’ system. Since joining the RoughRiders, he has made an immediate impact with clutch swings and power production. His 15 total home runs this season between High-A Hub City and Frisco lead the organization, and his strong May earned him Texas Rangers Player of the Month honors after hitting .327 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs.
Dreiling has also been a steady force in the lineup. The Rangers’ No. 10 prospect recently saw a 28-game on-base streak come to an end, tying for the eighth-longest streak in franchise history. He remains among the top hitters in the Texas League with a .291 batting average and continues to provide balance in a deep Frisco order.
The RoughRiders have also enjoyed plenty of success at Nelson Wolff Stadium in recent years. Since 2021, Frisco is 43-17 in San Antonio and has consistently controlled the matchup with strong pitching and timely offense. During that stretch, the Riders have posted a team ERA of 2.49 at The Wolff while outscoring the Missions 294-163.
Frisco’s offense enters Sunday ranked near the top of the Texas League in several major categories, including hits, batting average, runs, doubles, slugging percentage and OPS. The RoughRiders have scored seven or more runs in 26 of their first 60 games and are 20-1 when scoring at least eight runs.
With MacLean on the mound and the bats coming off a late-game breakout, Frisco has a chance to leave San Antonio with another strong finish and continue building momentum in the Texas League race.
