MiLB Preview: Frisco RoughRiders Rally Past Missions, Extend Winning Streak to Six Games

STWF Sports | SAN ANTONIO | June 11, 2026  — The Frisco RoughRiders continue to look like a team finding its rhythm at exactly the right time.

Frisco won its sixth consecutive game Thursday night, defeating the San Antonio Missions 6-3 at Nelson Wolff Stadium behind a decisive five-run third inning, a strong response from starter Winston Santos and another shutout effort from the bullpen.

The victory moved the RoughRiders to 33-25 and kept them in firm position atop the Texas League South with 10 games remaining in the first half. San Antonio dropped to 25-35.

The night did not begin smoothly for Frisco. The Missions struck first in the second inning, pushing across three runs against Santos to grab a 3-0 lead. It was the kind of early inning that could have changed the tone of the game, especially on the road. Instead, Santos settled in and the RoughRiders answered immediately.

Frisco’s offense responded in the top of the third with the type of rally that has powered the club during its recent surge. Dylan Dreiling opened the scoring with a sacrifice fly, trimming the deficit to 3-1. Orlando Martinez followed with an RBI double, cutting San Antonio’s lead to one.

Then Keith Jones II delivered the biggest hit of the inning, driving a two-run double to put the RoughRiders in front 4-3. Arturo Disla capped the rally with an RBI single, giving Frisco a 5-3 advantage and completing a five-run response against Missions starter Miguel Mendez.

The inning showed the depth and balance of the Riders’ lineup. Frisco did not need one massive swing to flip the game. The RoughRiders worked through the order, put pressure on San Antonio and produced multiple run-scoring at-bats in a short stretch.

Once Frisco took the lead, Santos made sure the Missions could not immediately counter. The right-hander finished with five innings, allowing three runs while striking out a season-best nine batters. It was an important outing for Santos, who earned the win and improved to 1-3.

More than the final line, Santos gave Frisco stability after the early damage. His swing-and-miss stuff helped prevent San Antonio from building another rally, and his ability to get through five innings allowed the bullpen to take over with a lead.

That bullpen once again delivered.

Zach Bryant, Joey Danielson and Dustin Saenz combined for four scoreless innings, continuing a dominant stretch for the Frisco relief corps. Through the first three games of the series, the RoughRiders bullpen has now thrown 11 consecutive scoreless innings against the Missions.

Saenz handled the final two frames and earned his first save of the season with Frisco. His finish helped lock down another road win and gave the Riders their third straight victory to open the six-game series in San Antonio.

Frisco added an insurance run in the seventh when Marcus Lee Sang scored on a wild pitch, stretching the lead to 6-3. It was the only run scored after the third inning, but it gave the bullpen extra room and kept San Antonio from entering the late innings within one swing.

The victory also came with the end of a notable individual streak. Dreiling went 0-for-4, bringing his on-base streak to a close at 28 games. The run was one of the longest in RoughRiders franchise history and the longest active streak in the Texas League before Thursday.

Even with Dreiling’s streak ending, Frisco’s team momentum remains very much alive. The RoughRiders have won six in a row and continue to stack victories in a tight first-half division race.

With Midland also winning Thursday, Frisco maintained a 2.5-game lead over the RockHounds for first place in the Texas League South. The Riders also sit 4.5 games ahead of third-place Amarillo, and their magic number to clinch the first-half division title is down to nine.

That makes the next 10 games critical. Frisco has put itself in position to control the race, but the club still has work to finish before it can lock up the first-half crown.

The RoughRiders will return to action Friday night for game four of the series against San Antonio. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Left-hander Dalton Pence is expected to start for Frisco, entering with a 2-1 record and a 2.53 ERA. The Missions will counter with left-hander Jagger Haynes, who comes in at 1-2 with a 4.50 ERA.

For now, Frisco continues to ride a complete formula: timely offense, improved starting pitching and a bullpen that has been nearly untouchable in San Antonio.
