MiLB Recap: Disla’s Late Blast Pushes Frisco RoughRiders Past Travelers, Secures Fourth Straight Series Win

STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | June 20, 2026 — Arturo Disla delivered the biggest swing of the night, and the Frisco RoughRiders closed the first half of the Texas League season with another statement win.

Behind Disla’s go-ahead two-run home run in the seventh inning, Frisco defeated the Arkansas Travelers 4-2 on Saturday night at Riders Field, earning its fourth consecutive series victory. The win moved the RoughRiders to 38-29 and gave the club more momentum as it wrapped up the first half against one of the league’s top teams.

Frisco struck first in the third inning with a clean piece of situational hitting. Dylan Dreiling reached base and came around to score when Orlando Martinez ripped an RBI double, giving the RoughRiders a 1-0 lead. It was an important early response for a Frisco lineup that had been looking to keep pressure on Arkansas after being shut out earlier in the series.

The Travelers answered in the fifth against RoughRiders starter Ben Anderson. Jared Sundstrom delivered a run-scoring single to tie the game, and Bill Knight followed with another RBI single to put Arkansas ahead 2-1. The Travelers briefly appeared to have control, but Anderson limited further damage and kept the game within reach.

Frisco did not trail for long.

In the bottom half of the fifth, Max Wagner brought Riders Field to life with one swing, launching his first home run at the ballpark as a RoughRider. The solo shot evened the score at 2-2 and shifted the energy back toward the home dugout.

Anderson exited after recording the first out of the sixth inning, finishing with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed two runs and leaned on his defense throughout the night, with Frisco turning three double plays behind him. Those plays proved critical in keeping Arkansas from building a larger lead.

The decisive moment came in the seventh.

Why Fans Love the Frisco RoughRiders

With the game tied and Teddy McGraw on the mound for Arkansas, Disla continued his standout series by driving a two-run homer onto the berm in left-center field. The blast was his third home run of the week and gave Frisco a 4-2 advantage it would not give back.

Disla has been one of the RoughRiders’ hottest bats during the series, collecting nine hits and nine RBIs through the first six games. His power surge has come at the perfect time for a Frisco team trying to finish the first half strong and carry confidence into the next stretch of the season.

The bullpen handled the rest.

Jonathan Brand turned in one of his strongest outings of the year, working 3.1 scoreless innings in relief. His effort set a season high in innings pitched and continued an impressive run of consistency. Over his last 11 appearances, Brand has allowed just one earned run across 21 innings.

Brand pitched into the ninth before Zach Bryant entered to record the final out. Bryant sealed the victory and earned his first save of the 2026 season.

The win also marked a notable team achievement. Frisco has now won four consecutive full series for the first time since the final four series of the 2024 campaign. For a club that has battled through a competitive first half, Saturday’s result served as another reminder of its depth, balance and ability to respond late in games.

With Disla powering the offense, Wagner adding timely pop and the pitching staff closing the door, the RoughRiders ended the night with a 4-2 win and a strong finish to the first half at Riders Field.
