STWF Sports | FRISCO, Texas | May 9, 2026 — FC Dallas continued its recent surge Saturday night, defeating Real Salt Lake 3-1 at a sold-out Toyota Stadium behind goals from Santiago Moreno, Kaick and Sam Sarver.
The victory pushed Dallas to 5-3-4 on the season with 19 points while extending the club’s regular-season home sellout streak to 42 consecutive matches. Including postseason play, FC Dallas has now sold out 43 straight MLS home games, the longest streak in club history.
FC Dallas: A Force in the Western Conference
Saturday’s result also marked the second time this season Dallas has secured back-to-back victories as Eric Quill’s squad continues building momentum in the Western Conference race.
From the opening whistle, Dallas looked sharp, aggressive and organized.
For the first time all season, FC Dallas fielded the same starting lineup in consecutive matches after earning a road victory against the New York Red Bulls last week. The continuity immediately paid off as Dallas controlled the early tempo and capitalized on its attacking opportunities.
The breakthrough came in the 18th minute.
Midseason acquisition Santiago Moreno found the back of the net for his first FC Dallas goal after connecting on a setup from Petar Musa. Musa’s assist marked his 12th goal contribution of the season as the Croatian striker once again influenced the attack despite not scoring himself.
Moreno’s finish energized the home crowd and continued a strong run of attacking form for Dallas.
Just six minutes later, FC Dallas doubled the lead.
Brazilian midfielder Kaick blasted home his first goal of the season in the 24th minute, giving Dallas a commanding 2-0 advantage before halftime.
Kaick continues proving valuable in Quill’s midfield system. Since joining Dallas from Grêmio in March 2025, the Brazilian has steadily grown into a key two-way presence. FC Dallas improved to 5-1-3 this season when Kaick starts, highlighting his growing influence within the lineup.
Real Salt Lake attempted to respond after halftime by increasing pressure and pushing additional numbers forward into the attack.
However, Dallas remained disciplined defensively throughout much of the second half.
Head coach Eric Quill praised his team’s defensive structure and collective effort after the match, emphasizing the group’s commitment to playing compact and protecting one another defensively.
“I thought we were excellent defensively,” Quill said. “The guys were blocking shots and working together collectively. We really didn’t give up much.”
The back line, led by Herman Johansson and Sebastien Ibeagha, consistently disrupted Real Salt Lake’s attacking rhythm while limiting dangerous scoring opportunities.
Quill also highlighted the team’s mentality and work ethic during key defensive recovery moments.
“Our mentality is to take care of each other, get behind the ball and do everything possible to prevent goals,” Quill said. “That’s the heart of this team.”
Despite Dallas controlling much of the match, Real Salt Lake eventually found life late in the second half.
Diego Luna cut the deficit to 2-1 in the 85th minute, briefly creating tension inside Toyota Stadium as Salt Lake searched for a late equalizer.
But FC Dallas delivered the knockout blow moments later.
In stoppage time, forward Sam Sarver produced one of the night’s biggest highlights with a coast-to-coast finish that sealed the match and sent the crowd into celebration.
Sarver sprinted through open space before calmly finishing for his second goal in consecutive games.
Afterward, the forward described the moment as one players dream about.
“When I saw all that space in front of me, I just thought, ‘Let’s see if they can catch me,’” Sarver said. “You get into your own zone and don’t think about anything else. Then you see the ball hit the back of the net and hear the fans erupt. That’s a special feeling.”
Sarver also credited the team’s chemistry and selfless mentality for Dallas’ recent success.
“It takes everybody,” Sarver said. “That’s what this team is about.”
Defender Herman Johansson echoed that confidence after the victory, saying the group continues improving every week while building momentum together.
Now sitting at 19 points, FC Dallas continues climbing the Western Conference standings while gaining confidence behind a balanced attack and increasingly disciplined defense.
And with Toyota Stadium once again rocking in front of another sellout crowd, Dallas appears to be finding its identity at the perfect time.
