STWF Sports| FRISCO, Texas| October 14, 2026 — FC Dallas punched its ticket back to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night, defeating Seattle Sounders FC 1-0 at Toyota Stadium behind a second-half goal from midfielder Kaick and a seven-save shutout from goalkeeper Daniel.
The victory improved Dallas to 14-7-8 with 50 points and officially secured the club’s second consecutive playoff berth under head coach Eric Quill. Seattle dropped to 11-10-8 with 41 points.
Dallas clinched postseason qualification in just 30 matches this season, improving on last year’s pace when the club needed 34 games to secure a playoff spot.
Kaick Delivers the Decisive Moment
The match remained scoreless until the 63rd minute, when Kaick broke through with the only goal of the night.
The Brazilian midfielder finished a chance created by Osaze Urhoghide, scoring his fourth goal of the season. Kaick now ranks third on the team in goals and leads all FC Dallas midfielders in scoring this year.
Urhoghide was credited with his third assist of the season.
The goal was enough because Dallas defended relentlessly the rest of the way.
Seattle pushed hard in the closing stages, sending numbers forward and generating a series of corners, but FC Dallas repeatedly handled the pressure inside its own box.
Quill praised the team’s response after a disappointing loss to Charlotte in its previous match.
“The last 20 minutes were what I was most proud of,” Quill said. “You could see that when their legs were gone and their minds were exhausted, they were still giving everything they had.”
Daniel Comes Up Big
Goalkeeper Daniel was one of the biggest reasons Dallas was able to protect the lead.
He finished with seven saves and earned his second shutout of the season. The clean sheet helped FC Dallas defeat Seattle at home for the first time since May 7, 2022.
Quill highlighted Daniel’s composure and shot-stopping under pressure.
“He’s here to help us win games, and he’s been doing it his whole career,” Quill said. “He’s a big-time goalkeeper.”
Midfielder Ramiro also pointed to the club’s depth in goal, noting that Daniel, Jonathan Sirois and Michael Collodi have all given Dallas confidence at the position.
Dallas Responds After Charlotte Setback
FC Dallas entered the night needing a strong response after surrendering a lead in a 3-2 loss at Charlotte.
That response came through improved defensive organization and a stronger commitment inside the penalty area.
Midfielder Ran Binyamin said the team understood the importance of avoiding back-to-back losses.
“These were big, big three points for us,” Binyamin said. “We knew we needed to raise our level.”
He added that Dallas improved in the second half after struggling with first and second balls during a stretch in the opening 45 minutes.
The adjustments paid off.
More History for FC Dallas
Wednesday’s win also marked another milestone for the club.
FC Dallas secured a winning record both at home and on the road in the same season for the first time since 2010, when the club advanced to the MLS Cup Final.
Chief Soccer Officer and Sporting Director André Zanotta also earned his 100th win across all competitions with FC Dallas since joining the organization in 2019.
The sellout streak continued as well, with 10,925 fans in attendance for the club’s 48th consecutive regular-season sellout at Toyota Stadium.
Dallas now turns its attention to the final Texas Derby matchup of the season.
FC Dallas travels south to face Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7:30 p.m. CT, looking to build on a playoff-clinching performance and carry momentum into the final stretch of the regular season.
