STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | June 1, 2026 — The Dallas Wings return to College Park Center on Monday night with momentum, confidence and a chance to make franchise history.
Dallas enters its matchup against the Seattle Storm at 5-3, sitting second in the Western Conference after one of its biggest wins of the young season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT, with national coverage on USA Network and local coverage on KFAA.
A win over Seattle would give the Wings their best start since the franchise relocated to Texas in 2016. The last time the organization opened a season 6-3 came in 2015, when the franchise was still based in Tulsa.
The Dallas Wings: A Team to Watch This Season
For a Dallas team still building chemistry under Head Coach Jose Fernandez, Monday’s game is another opportunity to show that its hot start is more than an early-season spark.
The Wings are coming off a statement 95-87 win over the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces in front of a sold-out crowd at College Park Center. Dallas erased a 13-point deficit and earned its first win over Las Vegas since Aug. 27, 2024, delivering the type of comeback that can help shape a team’s identity.
Jessica Shepard was the centerpiece of that win, making WNBA history with the league’s first 22-point, 20-rebound and 10-assist triple-double. Shepard has quickly become one of the most impactful offseason additions in the league, giving Dallas a unique frontcourt playmaker who can rebound, facilitate and create offense from multiple spots on the floor.
Shepard enters Monday averaging 11.4 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game, leading the Wings in both categories. Her ability to control possessions has helped Dallas become one of the WNBA’s best passing teams early in the season.
Rookie guard Azzi Fudd also continues to emerge. Fudd scored 22 points in her first WNBA start against Las Vegas, adding another strong performance after her breakout showing against New York. Her shooting has given Dallas another dangerous perimeter weapon alongside Paige Bueckers and Arike Ogunbowale.
Bueckers continues to lead the Wings offensively, averaging 19.4 points per game. Her poise, efficiency and shot creation have helped stabilize Dallas during late-game situations, while Ogunbowale remains one of the league’s most dangerous scoring guards.
Statistically, Dallas enters the matchup with a clear offensive edge. The Wings are averaging 88.0 points per game compared to Seattle’s 78.7. Dallas is also shooting 47.0 percent from the field, while the Storm are connecting at 41.0 percent.
The biggest contrast may come in ball movement and turnovers. Dallas averages 23.4 assists per game, compared to Seattle’s 17.4, while the Wings are committing just 10.3 turnovers per contest. Seattle enters averaging 14.0 turnovers per game, a number Dallas will try to exploit with pressure defense and transition opportunities.
Still, the Storm have had success in this matchup in recent seasons.
Seattle owns a 7-3 record against Dallas over the last 10 regular season meetings dating back to 2023. The Wings are searching for their first regular-season home win over the Storm since Sept. 8, 2023.
Seattle enters at 3-6 and fourth in the Western Conference after a 93-72 road loss to the Toronto Tempo on Saturday afternoon. The Storm are in their first season under Head Coach Sonia Raman, who joined Seattle after spending the 2025 season as an assistant with the New York Liberty.
Natisha Hiedeman leads Seattle in scoring at 13.0 points per game, while Mackenzie Holmes leads the team on the glass with 5.0 rebounds per contest. Jade Melbourne has handled much of the playmaking responsibility, averaging a team-best 4.3 assists.
For Seattle, slowing Dallas’ tempo will be critical. The Wings have been at their best when they move the ball quickly, get multiple players involved and create open looks from the perimeter. If Dallas controls the pace and limits turnovers, the Storm could have difficulty keeping up offensively.
For the Wings, the focus will be avoiding a letdown after the emotional win over Las Vegas. Monday’s matchup carries a different kind of challenge: taking care of business against a team below them in the standings, while also snapping a recent trend of Seattle success in the head-to-head series.
With Shepard playing at an elite all-around level, Bueckers leading the offense and Fudd gaining confidence with every game, Dallas has a chance to keep building one of the WNBA’s early-season storylines.
A win would not just improve the Wings to 6-3. It would mark their best start in Texas and provide another sign that this Dallas team is ready to compete near the top of the Western Conference. Something the fans have been waiting for.
