STWF Sports | MINNEAPOLIS | June 9, 2026 — The Dallas Wings will carry one of the WNBA’s hottest stretches into one of their toughest road tests of the season Tuesday night.
Dallas enters its matchup against the Minnesota Lynx at 7 p.m. CT at Target Center with a 7-3 record and a four-game winning streak, while Minnesota comes in at 9-2 and sitting near the top of the league standings. The game will air locally on KFAA, with Ron Thulin on play-by-play and Fran Harris serving as analyst.
For the Wings, Tuesday night is more than another early-season measuring stick. It is a chance to extend their winning streak to five games, which would give Dallas its longest run since the 2023 regular season. It is also an opportunity to earn their first regular-season win over Minnesota since Aug. 30, 2024, and their first victory at Target Center since July 12, 2023.
The Dallas Wings: A Team on the Rise
Dallas comes in with momentum after an impressive 104-96 road win over the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday night. The Wings received production across the starting lineup, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Arike Ogunbowale led the way with a season-high 30 points, six rebounds and six assists, while Paige Bueckers delivered one of the best playmaking performances in franchise history.
Bueckers finished with 18 points and a career-high 14 assists, tying Ogunbowale for the most assists in a single game in Wings history. She recorded nine assists in the first half and six in the first quarter, showing complete command of the offense in a fast-paced road environment.
Jessica Shepard continued her outstanding start with 22 points, 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals against Los Angeles. It was her sixth double-double of the season and another example of how important she has become to Dallas’ identity. Through 10 games, Shepard is averaging 13.5 points, 11.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists, making her the only player in the WNBA this season averaging at least 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.
That all-around production has placed Shepard in elite company. She joins Alyssa Thomas as just the second player in league history to average 10-plus points, 10-plus rebounds and five-plus assists through the first 10 games of a season.
The Wings’ offense has also reached historic territory. Dallas currently leads the WNBA in assist-to-turnover ratio at 2.02, becoming the first team in league history to average more than two assists for every turnover through the first 10 games of a season. That balance of pace, passing and ball security has helped Dallas build one of the league’s most efficient attacks.
Friday’s win over Los Angeles showcased that offensive rhythm. Dallas made a season-high 41 field goals, marking just the ninth time in franchise regular-season history the team has reached at least 41 made shots. Four Wings players made at least seven field goals, the first time in franchise history that has happened in one game.
Ogunbowale remains at the center of the Wings’ scoring punch. Her performance against the Sparks marked the second time in her career she recorded at least 30 points, five rebounds, five assists and five made three-pointers in a game. That moved her into a tie for third all-time in WNBA history in games reaching those marks, alongside Caitlin Clark and Candace Parker. Only Diana Taurasi and Sabrina Ionescu have more.
Minnesota presents a major challenge. The Lynx won the first meeting between the teams this season, defeating Dallas 90-86 in Arlington on May 14. They also enter Tuesday coming off an 88-68 home win over the Seattle Storm. Minnesota is 3-0 in Commissioner’s Cup play, while Dallas is 2-0, adding extra weight to the matchup.
The Wings will need another disciplined performance to beat a Lynx team that can control tempo, defend at a high level and punish mistakes. Dallas’ ability to protect the ball, rebound and get balanced scoring will be critical.
There are also several milestones within reach. Shepard is nine points away from 1,000 career WNBA points and four assists shy of 400. Bueckers is 25 points from 900 career points, while Maddy Siegrist needs four rebounds to reach 300.
Tuesday night gives Dallas another chance to prove its strong start is no accident. Against one of the league’s best teams, the Wings have an opportunity to make a statement on the road and keep their winning streak alive.
