WNBA Recap: Dallas Wings Deliver Statement Win, Rout Las Vegas Aces 96-66 in Arlington

STWF Sports | ARLINGTON, Texas | June 15, 2026 The Dallas Wings returned home Monday night with a response that was loud, complete and impossible to overlook.

Playing in front of a sold-out crowd at College Park Center, Dallas dominated the Las Vegas Aces 96-66, snapping the Aces’ six-game winning streak and securing the largest margin of victory for the Wings in series history against Las Vegas.

The win pushed Dallas to 9-5 on the season, while Las Vegas fell to 10-4. Even more notably, the Wings are now responsible for half of the Aces’ losses this season after also defeating Las Vegas 95-87 on May 28 in Arlington. It marks the first time Dallas has beaten the Aces multiple times in a season since 2018.

Impact of the Dallas Wings on the WNBA Season

Arike Ogunbowale led the Wings with a game-high 22 points, while Dallas placed five players in double figures. Azzi Fudd delivered the most efficient shooting performance of her young WNBA career, scoring 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Jessica Shepard nearly produced another triple-double against Las Vegas, finishing with 15 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists.

Shepard had already made history in the previous meeting with the Aces, recording a 22-point, 20-rebound, 10-assist triple-double. On Monday, she once again served as the engine for Dallas, controlling the glass, moving the ball and keeping the offense connected.

Paige Bueckers and Aziaha James each added 10 points, with Bueckers and Ogunbowale both handing out seven assists. Dallas committed a season-low eight turnovers and had three players finish with at least seven assists for just the second time in franchise history.

The Wings set the tone immediately with a new starting lineup of Bueckers, Ogunbowale, Fudd, Awak Kuier and Shepard. Kuier made her first start for Dallas since Sept. 5, 2023, and helped establish early energy on both ends.

Dallas shot 62.5 percent in the first quarter and led 29-20 after one. Shepard was dominant early, totaling 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in the opening period. Sug Sutton, signed by the Wings on June 14, also made her Dallas debut in the first quarter after checking in at the 4:26 mark.

The game broke open in the second quarter. Dallas caught fire from the perimeter, knocking down four straight three-pointers during a 17-0 run that stretched the lead to 52-26. Fudd scored seven points during the surge, while Ogunbowale drilled two threes to help turn the game into a blowout before halftime.

By the break, Dallas led 56-37 and had assisted on 18 of its first 20 made field goals. The Wings also scored 12 points off seven Las Vegas turnovers in the opening half, using defense to fuel one of their sharpest offensive stretches of the season.

Las Vegas, which entered the night as one of the league’s hottest offensive teams, never found consistent rhythm. The Aces shot a season-low 39.7 percent from the field and matched their season low with 66 points. Jewell Loyd led Las Vegas with 21 points, but the Aces shot just 24 percent from three and never led.

Dallas stayed in control throughout the third quarter. Bueckers opened the second half with five quick points, and Ogunbowale later added another scoring burst to push the lead to 27. Fudd helped stop a brief Las Vegas run with a midrange jumper, and Ogunbowale’s fourth three of the night gave Dallas a 74-53 lead entering the fourth.

The Wings closed with authority. Fudd opened the final quarter with another basket, continuing her career-best shooting night. Sutton scored her first points in a Wings uniform late in the fourth, helping spark a 9-0 Dallas run that pushed the lead near 30.

James capped the dominant performance by reaching double figures as Dallas finished off a 30-point victory.

The Wings won the rebounding battle 41-31, held advantages in second-chance points and fast-break points, and scored 42 points in the paint. It was one of Dallas’ most balanced performances of the season and a strong bounce-back after Saturday’s one-point loss at Portland.

Dallas now wraps up a demanding stretch of five games in nine days Wednesday on the road against the Golden State Valkyries. Tipoff at Chase Center is set for 9 p.m. CT, with the game airing locally on KFAA 29.
